Sigma is considering to launch a MFT system camera!

Sigma Rumors posted a rumor saying that Sigma will make a Micro Four Thirds camera with Foveon sensor. One of my trusted sources actually told me that the rumors is at “least partly true”. There will be definitely a new Sigma interchangeable and mirrorless camera in 2014. But it’s yet not sure if it will have an MFT mount or a new mount!

I would really like the idea to get a Foveon sensor in a Micro Four Thirds camera and you?

Mitakon lens Turbo Ai to MFT adapter to be announced next week!

[shoplink 43003 ebay][/shoplink]

Metabones Speed Boosters are having quite a success. But for the first time we will also have a second company offering a similar, cheaper (and likely inferior optical quality) product. The first and long-awaited Lens Turbo for Micro Four Thirds will be announced next week! It will be a Nikon Ai to MFT adapter. Unlike previous info we got that adapter will still have the first generation lens design as the [shoplink 43003 ebay]NEX Lens Turbo (here on eBay)[/shoplink]. But it will have improved coating to reduce the “blue spot” issue.
A Lens Turbo for Canon EOS EF and Canon FD lenses will come as next in early 2014.

Example of how it works: If you buy the [shoplink 43005 ebay]Nikon Ai 55mm f/1.2 for $250 on eBay (Click here)[/shoplink], stick it on the Lens Turbo and you get a f/0.85 aperture and f/1.2 alike depth of field.

First Olympus 40-150mm PRO lens hands-on video. Lens patent spotted too.

As you know the next Olympus PRO lens will be the 40-150mm f/2.8 lens. It will be released in 2014 but exact pricing and availability are still unknown. Mathieu Gasquet had the pleasure to “touch” a mockup of the lens (see the video on top). And those of you interested in the lens design should know that Egami (translation here) just spotted the lens design patent. There is also a description of a new 1.4 Teleconverter.
Great lens, just let’s hope Olympus will not go crazy high with the price!

New Leica 15mm f/1.7 MFT lens gets a price on eBay.

[shoplink 42947 ebay][/shoplink]

Back in October Panasonic announced the new Panasonic-Leica 15mm f/1.7 lens (Source: Panasonic.net). But they didn’t share any info about the price. Now for a short time a Korean store did list the [shoplink 42947 ebay]15mm Leica lens on eBay (Click here)[/shoplink]. Price was set at $1050. We don’t know yet if this si the real price of the lens or just a mistake made by the seller. I really hope the price will be much lower!

(FT5) New Olympus OMD entry level camera to be announced in January-February!

Let’s start this new week with some brand new HOT rumors. According to multiple(!) sources Olympus will launch a new entry level OMD camera in very early 2014, right before the CP+ show in Japan (Mid February). I don’t have a spec list yet but I suspect it will sue the same E-m1 sensor with no AA filter. And also the same EVF. It sounds like a small upgrade over the current [shoplink 29074]Olympus E-M5[/shoplink]. I hope the price will be also of “entry level” standard :)

You can find the [shoplink 42927 ebay]E-M5 for $699 (refurbished)[/shoplink] and [shoplink 42926 ebay]700 Euro (new on eBay)[/shoplink]. This could (or should) be the price of the new camera.

Also hot: Sources also pointed out that there will be new lenses (yes plural!).

And now also Fuji makes an OMD alike camera!

Funny how rumors about future mirrorless cameras from the competition often refer to a new model as an “Olympus OMD” alike design. it shows how successful the Olympus OMD line is! Fujirumors reports: “The Japanese source told me that the weather sealed X coming in January will have double SD card slots. The design? A new source said that the camera body will be “something like OMD (E-M1 – E-M5) shape“.

Now Olympus has to come up with something else others can”copy” :)
