The image on top shows Kurt Russel with the new Panasonic G4K camera! I guess that’s a set of a commercial for the new camera :)

I also got some more info about the video specs of the camera:
1) It will have a quad core processor.
2) Sensor reading is 50% faster then GH3 so much less rolling shutter.
3) maximum bitrate of 200Mbps ALI and 100Mbps IPB
4) 4K, you will have MOV + MP4 only.
5) In 1080p you will also have AVCHD.
6) The camera will have focus peaking and the user will be able to change the color. Focus Peaking will also work from smartphone through wifi.
7) Focusing will be faster and have more AF points (compared to GH3).

An anonymous and nice ;) source sent me the following info too:  I am not 100% sure about this, but I was told the G4K will have an optional attachment and as I was told it will have XLR as well as dual 3G SDI output. Panasonic wants to position this to serious film makers.

I got some G4K info from different sources:

– G4K has focus peaking
– There is an attachable XLR adapter
– H264 codec all intra that give 422 color all intra in 100 mbps. To record this you will need to buy the new P2 Micro card in SD shape made by Panasonic (see image on top)
– it will be switch-able from 4K and 1080P with various frame rates (can shoot 120fps at 1080P for example)

I told you yesterday how the new GH 4K camera that will be announced on Friday is all about video. The new 16 megapixel sensor doesn’t improve the still quality. Panasonic main work was to create a body that can dissipate the heat produced by the new 4K camera. I also have been told the new GH 4K uses a 2,36 million dot OLED EVF. And it has no on sensor stabilization (unlike the GX7).

Panasonic didn’t set the price yet and the camera will ship in late Spring only.

These are the FT5 specs we know so far:
– New 16 Megapixel sensor optimized for 4K recording
– 2,36 million dot OLED EVF
– 200Mps and ALL-I intra mode recording (4K)
– Price less than $2,000 (final price to be determined).

A highly trusted source confirmed that the new Panasonic GH 4K camera has a NEW(!) 16 Megapixel sensor. But on a first test he made there seems to be no improvement on stills Image Quality. The sensor’s goal is to deliver a super video quality and all the circuitry around the sensor has been redone to optimize heat dissipation.

That rumor may have been missed by many because of the many Olympus rumors posted in these days. I can confirm via multiple trusted sources that Panasonic will announce the new 4K MFT camera on February 7 at 5-6am London time. That’s Friday next week! I have no info yet about the exact camera specs and price. All we know is that the camera will cost a bit less than $2,000 and can record at amazing 200Mps and has ALL-I intra mode.

And I don’t know if Panasonic will also announce new G and GF cameras on the same day. I don’t think so, it would only distract from the real highlight which is the new 4K camera. They will almost certainly announce them in March-April.

I got more pictures and info right before the announcement at 6am London time. The E-M10 body will cost $699 and with 14-42mm kit lens $799. The sole 14-42mm lens will cost $349 while the 25mm f/1.8 costs $399

On top you can see the last leaked picture of the E-M10 on table with a hot coffee. The coffee is exactly what I need to wake up in a couple of hours at 6am London time. At that time Olympus will announce the E-M10, the three new MFT lenses and lot of new accessories.
