(FT5) GX2 is larger than the previous GX1.

Another trusted source said that he saw the camera. And it’s larger than the current [shoplink 26836]GX1[/shoplink]. He couldn’t share the specs but he said it’s a beautiful camera that has all tech required nowadays. There will be a “special kit” for this camera too. Yep, he also said it’s has the lines and look that reminds of the [shoplink 23692 ebay]L1-LC1[/shoplink].

As reported by Digicaminfo and my sources the camera has in-body IS, tiltable EVF, almost certainly a new 18MP sensor. And from what I read from the patent It could have an anti-alias filter and a new resolution EVF (close to 2 Mio).

Question to readers:

Are you a potential GX2 buyer?

Question to sources about the GX2 (and a little bit of help from my readers required).

As you know almost all sources use the anonymous contact form to send me rumors. I have a couple of questions for them and a question for my readers.

Question to sources:
1) Will the new Panasonic GX camera use the new Color Splitter sensor? P.S.: For readers, I don’t think it will so don’t get too excited. I only want to be sure of that.
2) What price can we expect for the body only?
3) What is the resolution of the EVF?

To readers:
I lost the link to the exact patent describing the GX in body stabilization system. I posted it here in April 2012 (but forgot to add the link). You may help me to find it again by searching through freepatentsonline (or other sites like that).

Thanks to all sources and readers for your help :)

(FT5) The dreamcamera will become true! New GX has in body IS and tiltable EVF!!!

Hurray!!! Two top trusted sources confirmed it yesterday. The New GX camera has indeed in body IS and tiltable built-in EVF: They expressly told me that the patent I posted in past describe almost exactly the real camera! As you know the last two years I found these images on patents describing a new camera with built-in tiltable EVF on the corner of the camera. It has built-in flash and the image stabilization which image you can see here:

I am now going to prepare the full patents roundup so that you can read them in the original language. But back to my sources. As I told you two very top sources confirmed the in body stabilization and tiltable EVF information. One of them also confirmed the “new sensor” (18 Megapixel). They also gave me some more bits I am going to disclose soon on 43rumors (P.S.: I am using those bits as reference for the rumors I am getting right now from more anonymous sources. This way I can be sure the info I receive from them is correct too).

One source also added that it was Panasonic goal’s to revive the [shoplink 36080 ebay]Four Thirds L1 camera design (here on eBay)[/shoplink]. So expect the new GX camera to look as cool as that one :)

This is going to be a really exciting time now. new OMD (coming early September), new GX (in late August), the new lenses….I think I will have little time for vacation this summer :(

(FT3) First possible GX2 specs! In body stabilization and titlable viewfinder?

The GX2 with tiltable EVF has been described in US patents (Source: Freepatentsonline).

Here are first possible specs for the new GX2 via Digicaminfo!

  • Tiltable built-in viewfinder
  • Fastest shutter is 1/8000 second
  • New sensor of 18 million pixels
  • Within the body image stabilization

I am not sure yet about these specs yet. I have a good source that is sharing some bits and I am waiting for more sources to confirm the info I got. So keep calm until I can upgrade (hopefully) the rumor to FT5 level. I don’t want you do be disappointed if something doesn’t come true. That said, if the camera has tiltable viewfinder, new sensor and in body image stabilization….it’s a winner!

P.S.: And a winner is the GX1 for $199 at [shoplink 38933 ebay]RobertsCamera on eBay US (Click here)[/shoplink]. Almost 250 cameras sold in 18 hours!!!!

(FT5) Panasonic GX1 successor to be announced in late August (and we will like it!)

The current GX1 sells out for $239 only at Adorama (Click here)

Trusted sources confirmed that the new GX1 successor will be announced in late August! It will be the only Panasonic MFT camera announced this autumn. I have been told it will be a high quality, very new designed camera. And one source expressively said…”43rumors people will like it for sure“.

I will leave ant speculation about what it will be to you. I am trying to convice the sources to spill out the specs… :)

At the moment stores are clearing the GX1 stocks. Adorama sells the body for $239 both in Black (Click here) and Silver (Click here). It’s $244 at Amazon (Click here) And the X kit sells for $499 at Amazon (Click here). This makes it the most sold mirrorless camera of the weekend (here is the ranking). It’s 299 Euro in Germany on eBay.

(FT4) First Olympus-Sony partnership tech exchange (PDAF sensors for OMD).

Sony’s United States Patent Application 20130113982) describes a sensor with PDAF

Last year Olympus and Sony signed a partnership that will soon show his first developments in the camera industry. According to trusted sources Olympus will get the new generations of Sony sensors with on sensor phase detection AF for a future high end OMD model. And Sony will use some of the knowledge from Olympus to design a couple of A-mount lenses that will be released in 2014. I think that’s a pretty good news for both companies. Sony sensors are the best on the market and the partnership allows Olympus to get the best from the best without having to stay in line (Nikon and Pentax use Sony sensors too). I am working on the specs of the next generation OMD and from the early bits I got (still unconfirmed) there may be some small surprise and new tech we never had before in Olympus cameras.

Stay tuned on 43rumors!
