SLRmagic needs your advice (50mm, 40mm, 12mm lens?)

As you know SLRmagic makes cheap quality and cheap priced m43 lenses based on current CCTV lens design (like the [shoplink 18603]26mm f/1.4[/shoplink] and [shoplink 14881]35mm f/1.7[/shoplink] lenses). Via Twitter they are asking m43 owners what kind of lenses they would like to be developed by the company. I thought it would be nice to help them by creating that poll:

What lens would you buy?

Panasonic UK success report

[shoplink 17361][/shoplink]

Panasonic UK just released a press release saying the GF2 will be in Stock (in UK) starting from today. There are a few very interesting info:
1) 1 of 4 system camera sold in December (in UK) is a mirrorless camera (Panasonic calls it CSC=Compact System Camera).
2) Mirrorless share grow 194% vs. the previous year!
3) 1 of 10 of all changeable lens cameras sold were from the Panasonic!

Those are good news for Panasonic. I hope this will convince the head office to increase the camera production to satisfy our demand for a shorter time supply!

The GF2 is already in Stock at Amazon UK, via third party resellers at Amazon DE and at [shoplink 19414 ebay]asian+european eBay resellers (Click here to see current auctions)[/shoplink].
According to BHphoto (Click here) the GF2 will arrive in February. Also Amazon US and Adorama are accepting preorders.

Macro light is only about $60 and converter is $60 too… fish eye is $179 though! And Amazon Germany (Click here) has the MAL-1 available for preorder for a much lower price than expected (49 Euro!).

It looks like Olympus has lowered the price of some of the newly announced accessories. Good news!

P.S.:The E-Pl2 is in Stock at: Amazon US, Adorama, BHphoto, Amazon DE, Amazon UK, Amazon FR.

Help Vitaly to hack the new Panasonic GH2! (and maybe the AG-AF100 too)

[shoplink 16254][/shoplink]

The well known [shoplink 14826]GH1[/shoplink] hacker Vitaly (or tester13) asked me to make a support call on 43rumors. That is the text he sent me:

As you may know, I have [shoplink 16254]GH2[/shoplink] firmware now. But it is encrypted, and uses compacts UPD format. It’ll require bunch of resources and expertise to try to dump compacts firmware and learn how encryption is performed. Please publish this info with bold request all engineers NOR flash (and especially LSI with NOR) experience contact me. I can guarantee anonymity if they want.

If you can help him please contact Vitaly at the following address: info@pentax-hack.info. More info are available here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?236360-News-about-GH2-firmware

And Vitaliy is also working on a hack for the [shoplink 16841]AG-AF100[/shoplink]. Here is the link to the thread: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?236194-Good-news-about-AF100-firmware
