Than we have Trustedreviews that posted the full GH3 test: “we don’t have any hesitation in saying the GH3 is one of the most intuitive CSCs we’ve used.“. And our friends over at Discovermirrorless posted two new GH3 videos: GH3 Camera Menu Peek and WiFi System on GH3.

Now let’s be confident that this time Panasonic will deliver us the camera next week. Check price and delivery dates at Amazon , Adorama, BhphotoPanasonic USSamys and in Europe at Wexphotographic UK and Technikdirekt.

Lenstip trashes the new Olympus 17mm f/1.8 lens!

Share

Lenstip is the first website to post a full review of the new Olympus 17mm f/1.8 lens. And that sentence kills the lens completely: “This lens is not exactly a successful construction and it should have been thought out better – I write it without scruple. I could even call it ill-considered.

Of course this is just on opinion. You can read different reviews at Ming Thein, Robin Wong and Pekka Potka. But one thing they have in common. No One is really super excited about the lens.

The new Olympus 17mm f/1.8 lens can now be preordered at Adorama, BHphoto and Amazon DE.

(FT2) GX2 in Spring and with no built-in EVF?

Share

[shoplink 26836][/shoplink]

An anonymous source just told me that the GX2 is due for a release in Spring 2013. Furthermore he told me, that it will not (!) have an integrated viewfinder. Other sources told me that it has design changes and the GH3 sensor.
I don’t know what you think about the GX not having an integrated viewfinder. The Fuji X-E1 and the Sony NEX-6 are selling well and I think a competitor against those cameras should be released. Don’t you? My modest opinion is(as you already know) that a [shoplink 26385 ebay]Panasonic DMC-LC1[/shoplink] alike camera would be a hotseller. Hope other sources can soon confirm or deny this rumor! Thanks!

P.S.: Some Panasonic LC1 cna be found on auction at [shoplink 26385 ebay]eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].

Meantime in US and some other countries the GX1 is as cheap as the GF5:
GX1 price at [shopcountry 26836].
GF5 price at [shopcountry 30485].

Rumors classification explained (FT= FourThirds):
FT1=1-20% chance the rumor is correct
FT2=21-40% chance the rumor is correct
FT3=41-60% chance the rumor is correct
FT4=61-80% chance the rumor is correct
FT5=81-99% chance the rumor is correct

It’s always hard to find deals in Europe. And I know many of us are jealous of all this constant US deals. So here is a real deal on my favorite lens, the Nokton 17.5mm. Usually you get the lens for 1.289,99 but you can finally have it for 1.019 Euro at [shoplink 35048 ebay]FotoMundus eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].

This is definitely the one lens I would pickup for my everyday shooting. And if you want to read some review just check out Lepidi, Admiringlight and Pekka Potka’s articles.

New E-PM2 wrap up. Gets DxOmarked, reviews and a new TvAD!

Share

New E-PM2 ad from Olympus.

The cheapest of all new Olympus MFT cameras got DxOmarked and unsurprisingly scored the same result as the E-PL5 and E-PM5. Neocamera also tested (and liked) the E-PM2: “Given it outclasses its predecessor in terms of image quality and speed, it presents a worthy upgrade for those not ready to move to a more expensive model.” For the size and price this little camera may turn out to have the best price-image quality ratio of any MFT camera! Now Panasonic really has to come out with a new GX model to compete against Olympus…what are you waiting for?

E-PM2 at Amazon, Adorama, Bhphoto. In EU at Amazon Germany, Amazon UK, Amazon France. And the Gariz case for the camera in [shoplink 34733 ebay]Black (Click here)[/shoplink] and [shoplink 34732 ebay]Brown (Click here)[/shoplink].
