Digicameinfo posted that image of the Silver E-M10 including the new 14-42mm pancake zoom with attachable lens cap. I think I am really going to like that lens cap :)

The Silver E-M10 looks also quite good!

Yesterday we learned that Olympus will offer an E-M5 and 12-40mm lens bundle. But that E-M5 has at least one small difference over the current E-M5. This is an “elite” version that has a new texture on the body (might be the same E-M10 texture you see on the image on top). But the camera specs are exactly the same. It’s just an esthetic change!

Next week on January 29 (6am London time) Olympus will not only announce the E-M10 and the three new MFT lenses. There will be also a new E-M5 with 12-40mm lens kit and three new compacts.The kit will be available only with the Black E-M5.

– STYLUS SP-100EE estimated retail price of about 55,000 yen
– STYLUS TG-850 Tough estimated retail price of about 35,000 yen
– STYLUS TG-835 Tough estimated retail price of about 33,000 yen

43rumors reader Toor (Source: Twitter) created that E-M5 vs E-M10 size comparison to display the differences. If you care about small size cameras you will be happy to see the new E-M10 is quite a bit smaller!

As you know the camera will be announced on January 29 at 6am London time. Be sure to be online at that time on 43rumors to follow the event live!

Last week we learned the price of the new Olympus 25mm f/1.8 lens and the new pancake zoom would be 35,000 yen in Japan. By using the current currency conversion the price would be 250€. Well the last two days I got confirmations from one trusted and one new source that Olympus will price the lens much higher than that! It will cost 399 Euro!

These are the prices:
Olympus 25 f/1.8 will cost 399€
Olympus 14-42 will cost 399€
Fisheye lenscap will cost 99€

Once again EU citizen have to pay more than US or Asian countries on camera and lenses!

For me this means I will wait for a refurbished deal at [shoplink 22691 ebay]Olympusmarket[/shoplink] to try to get them for a lower price :(

Over at Mirrorlessrumors (Click here) you can read the news about the new Fuji X-T1 camera. And as you can see from that official Fuji teaser image they are going to launch a new “OMD” styled X-mount camera on January 28 which is exactly the day before the E-M10 announcement (Jan 29).

I think it’s great news for us to have some strong competition. It will force Olympus to make an even better OMD camera for less money :)

And it may be that in a couple of years from now tablets will be the main tool we use for our post production.
