Source “Simon” shared some more tidbits about the Olympus f/1.0 lens and E-M1II plan:

The plan from Olympus is to bring out 3 new high prime lenses (sealed) in september 2016. There ar already prototypes in the lab. It is more “easy” to produce fixlenses instead of zoom like 40-150 2.8.I think they will bring them in September 2016. Parralel with the successor of our EM-1 they will introduce a new level of picturequality. There plan is to “steel” customers from Nikon & Canon (D4 + EOS 5) with highprime lenses + freehand hi-resolution modus like the EM 5 MK II. So 12mm/1.0; 25mm/1.0 & 50mm/1.0 will come !

We already saw the pictures of the Silver E-M10II and now Digicameinfo shared the pics of the Black version. Some specs got unveiled too:

– Sensor is 16MP
– Size: 119.5 x 83.1 x 46.7mm
– Weight: 390g
– Battery: BLS-50
– Grip: ECG-3

As I told you one of the few new features will be the electronic shutter function.

The new E-M10II will be announced by Olympus the last days of August. It’s basically an E-M10 with some minor tewaks (like the addition of an electronic shutter mode).

Sometimes I really have to post some of the strange rumors I get from anonymous funny “sources” :)
One of them sent me a message saying that Olympus will join the Sony E-mount system and make lenses for them. The first lens would be a “Zuiko 35mm f/2.8”. The lens design would be close to the gorgeous [shoplink 54865 ebay]Zuiko 35mm f/2.8 OM lens (here on eBay)[/shoplink].
I really don’ believe the info is correct but…there is a but. I cannot exclude that in a distant future Olympus will make the big jump to Full frame. And maybe they will really join the E-mount system. Afterall Olympus and Sony are partners and it would be easier for Oly to jump on the boot of a popular system.

Sigma is currently offering three MFT lenses and a fourth one could be announced in late 2015. The 14mm f/4.0 lens used on the Sigma DP0 Quattro will get modified and offered as “independent” MFT lens.

The current three MFT lenses from Sigma:
The 19mm f/2.8 lens at Amazon, Adorama and BHphoto.
The 30mm f/2.8 lens at Amazon, Adorama and BHphoto.
The 60mm f/2.8 lens at Amazon, Adorama and BHphoto.

A trusted source told me that he heard the V-LOG firmware update for the GH4 will not come for free. Panasonic will let you pay for it. I understand that V-LOG is a major improvement for the camera but I really beg Panasonic do reconsider that decision (if the rumor I got is correct). I may be naive but firmware upgrades should be free. And they should consider that:
1) Plenty of people will be upset by this (Negative publicity)
2) They will sell more GH4 cameras if V-LOG gets added for free
3) Other companies like Fuji (massive improvements on all X cameras) and Sony (XAVC-S on the A6000) provide those kind of updates for free!

So let’s just hope my source is wrong and if not…Panasonic may read this and will reconsider the decision.
