(FT4) No new MFT camera coming at PhotoPlus.

Bildschirmfoto 2015-10-14 um 07.48.09

That will not come as a surprise. But Olympus and Panasonic will not announce any new MFT camera at PhotoPlus this year. Instead we can expect both to show their Leica 100-400mm and Zuiko 300mm prototype lenses. Don’t know yet if they will also show some other new MFT lens…would be nice!

(FT5) Olympus will reinvent the PEN line!

olympus_micro_four_third-camera-mock-up-190908

You may remember that picture of the first Olympus PEN mockup. It was shown seven years ago at Photokina 2008. And on June 16 2009 Olympus announced the first real digital PEN camera, the [shoplink 55942 ebay]E-P1[/shoplink].
After an initial success the PEN line has been somewhat overshadowed by the OMD cameras. I have been told by my trusted sources that PEN sales are fallen way behind their sales goals. So you wonder what’s coming next? This is what I got from two trusted sources:

They said Olympus is going to reinvent the PEN line and add more features and tech innovations to them!

I hope to get some more concrete news about it soon. All I know is that the very new PEN line is coming in 2016.

(FT4) Still 2-3 years to go for the Panasonic/Fuji organic sensor.

I have been told by a Panasonic source that we will still have to wait 2-3 years before the organic sensor developed by Panasonic and Fuji will make his way into a real mass production camera. At least for 2016 don’t expect anything fancy new on Panasonic sensors (no organic no foveon or so). The GH5 will have a classic Bayer sensor and bring certainly have major improvements in terms of image quality

Reminder: Fuji-Panasonic announcement (article here on 43rumors).

What’s next from Panasonic? Organic sensor, FF camera, GH5….

The Panasonic-Leica 100-400mm f/4.0-6.3 lens is coming in Spring 2016

In 2015 Panasonic announced the G7, GF7 and GX8. And I do not expect them to announce any other MFT camera this year. So what’s coming as next?

What’s highly likely to come in 2016:
1) The Panasonic-Leica 100-400mm f/4.0-6.3 in Spring
2) GH5 sometimes in 2016
3) New GM camera sometimes in 2016

What’s Panasonic is also doing:
1) Strenghten the partnership with Leica and make many parts of their new Leica SL T-mount Full Frame mirrorless autofocus camera.
2) Develop the organic sensor with Fuji
3) Develop new fast MFT prime lenses

What could be the surprises?
1) The launch of an organic sensor camera
2) The official join of the Leica T-mount system with their own branded Panasonic FF camera and lenses
3) Extension of the Noctilux f/1.2 prime lens series

And you, what are you hoping to see from Panasonic in 2016?

(FT4) Olympus 300mm PRO lens to ship in Spring for a price between 1799 – 1999 €.

The 300mm is planed to start for production in Spring. And we just heard the price should be something between 1799 – 1999 €.

For that price will you consider to buy the 300mm PRO lens?

A first “blurred” image of the new Leica FF made with Panasonic.

Leica boss Kaufmann is teasing the new Leica SL launch programed for October 20. Just like the [shoplink 55801 ebay]Leica Q[/shoplink] it’s rumored that also the SL will be made in collaboration with Panasonic. The mount is rumored to be the already [shoplink 55802 ebay]existing T-mount[/shoplink]. But the SL has FF sensor inside. Plenty of electronics parts are made by Panasonic.

first posted on Mirrorlessrumors.

The Leica SL is the first mirrorless non-rangefinder FF system camera (made with Panasonic).

MirrorlessRumors.com reports the name of the name of Leica’s first mirrorless and non-rangefinder FF system camera will be “Leica SL“. This is a completely new system launched by Leica and in which Panasonic is deeply involved. Panasonic will deliver the necessary tech like processor and so on. The Leica SL will have a [shoplink 55702 ebay]Leicaflex SL alike design (cameras here on eBay)[/shoplink].

It will be very interesting to see if Panasonic will in future join the FF system with own branded cameras and lenses!
