A trusted source confirmed Panasonic will announce announce a new “product”. But the said it isn’t going ot be particularly exciting :(
The current LX100II sells for $1498 on Amazon!
One source heard about a possible new Panasonic Lumix LX100II successor coming on October 17. The only spec he shared is that it will use the same Panasonic G9II sensor. This is not a 100% solid rumor yet, so please take it with a grain of salt!
Why the LX100III would make sense:
On the used market the value of the LX100II kept raising from $600 to now nearly double the price. There is clearly a demand for this camera. Panasonic may have noticed this and felt the need to upgrade the camera?
What would you love to see on the new LX100III? 25MP with hybrid AF sounds good enough to me!
Panasonic has officially begun teasing a new product announcement for October 17. After so many recent L-mount launches, I really hope this time we’ll finally see something for the Micro Four Thirds system!
They previously said that compact camera development hasn’t been done so we might finally get a successor for this camera series?

Quick update: our sources confirm no imminent Lumix announcement. Sadly, no whispers of a new MFT camera or lens either.

On September 10 at 7am London time, OM will unveil the new 50-200mm f/2.8 lens. Initially, one source claimed it wouldn’t support teleconverters, but another insists it absolutely will. Looks like there may have been a miscommunication — and that’s great news for all of us!

A reader (Thanks!) just spotted the specs and pricing of the new OM 50-200mm f/2.8 PRO. I don’t yet know if this is all 100% correct but the price is listed as “3499,00€ ” The announcement will happen on September 10 at 7am London time!

Finally a got a confirmation that the OM 50-200mm f/2.8 PRO lens will be announced on September 10 at 7am London time!!! UPDATE: Another source said that it actually takes Teleconverters! So maybe one of the sources messed up things?
