Photokina press event on September 25 for both Panasonic and Olympus

Share

The image above you shows you at what time both companies will have their press conferences.

At 12:30 Berlin time Panasonic will disclose their full frame camera prototype. I don’t know if they will also announce some new MFT lenses
At 17:30 Berlin time Olympus will meet their press at the Perspective Playground. I d0n’t expect Olympus to announce any new camera. There is a small chance they will unveil some MFT lenses like the 12mm f/1.2 PRO.

(FT2) totally wild rumors: Panasonic FF to have shorter flange distance and will take current MFT lenses via adapter

Share

This is a wild rumor meaning it’s from a new source and has yet to be verified by my sources. Still, I really do hope this one is true!

The source said the new Panasonic FF camera will have a shorter flange distance compared to the current Micro Four Thirds mount (20mm). And there will be an adapter for MFT lenses! Currently the Nikon Z has the shortest flange distance with 16mm. If Panasonic will have a similar flange distance it would mean there is enough space for a MFT adapter to be made. Of course these lenses would work in crop mode only on the new Panasonic. But still, that’s great news for people who do own MFT lenses!

You can join the new Panasonic Full Frame Facebook group if you plan to buy this camera. There you can discuss all features and tests once it’s released!

Bird photography tips (English)

Is sensor size really that important? (Lumixstories).
Panasonic Lumix LX100 II Vs Panasonic Lumix LX100 – What Are The Differences? (ePhotozine).
Introducing LEICA DG SUMMILUX 12mm / F1.4 ASPH. (PanasonicLumixVideo).

Yannick:I did this video to test the G9’s capabilities. I combined handheld shooting with a long focal length, all shots with autofocus, in 4K 60p, in cinelikeD and graded.
Autofocus in v1.1 is quite good in one area and face detection. Not perfect but definetly usable compared to like 1 year ago.
Not so many cameras can do all this at once when you think about it ! Enjoy
