(FT5) Three new converters to be launched with the E-PL2

Share

According to rumors we received form our sources there will be also three new converters you can use on the 14-42mm kit lens. There should be a Fish-eye, a Wide-angle and a macro converter. That means no new Micro Four Thirds lenses will be announced with the E-PL2 launch. But according to our sources you will not have to wait a lot of time to see the new Olympus High-Pro lenses. They will be announced in February-March 2011!

We have quite a few Olympus and Panasonic rumors we are working on. So stay tuned!

If you have rumors to share feel free to contact me at 43rumors@gmail.com or use the contact form on the right sidebar. You can avoid to send me your name or email address but it would be nice if you could use some kind of nickname. it will make me easy to recognize you in future. thanks!

P.S.: Our partnerwebsite X-rumors (leaded by our friedn Andrea) leaked the Samsung 85mm f/1.4 lens. Nice, butI hope Olympus can do better ;)

The japanese website Pronews compared the new Micro Four Thirds AG-AF100 (in Japan the name is AG-AF105) camcorder with the most famous HDSLR camera the Canon 5D markII. What’s really interetsing is the AVCHD codec vs CINEDECK of ProRes422 video comparison. You can get the camera at Adorama, BHphoto and [shoplink 18636 ebay]eBay[/shoplink]!

Panasonic G10 discontinued??? (US deals roundup)

Share

One of our 43rumors reades noticed that BHphoto discontinued the Panasonic G10 (Click here). This is a huge suprise for a camera that has been announced 10 months ago only! Adorama doesn’t even list the G10 and Amazon has it in Stock via third party resellers only. I guess everyone is preferring the older G1 or the newer [shoplink 14834]G2[/shoplink] camera.

Meanhwile the new Panasonic lenses are all in Stock. The good news is that the Panasonic 100-300mm lens has a $35 discount at Amazon (Click here). The new 14mm lens is also in Stock at Amazon (Click here).

There has been a huge price drop on the Panasonic 8mm price drop wich is now in Stock for $685 at Adorama and BHphoto.

The 45mm macro lens is also getting cheaper. $735.00 at BHphoto!

And finally you can get the Panasonic GF1 body only for $299 at Amazon!

(FT5) The Olympus XZ-1 with 28-112mm f/1.8-2.5 Lens coming! + Panasonic compact cameras.

I received a few rumors about non Micro Four Thirds related products from Olympus and Panasonic. I choose to post them because might some of you is interested in reading those.

As you know the CES show starts on January 6th. According to our sources there will be plenty of new compact cameras from Olympus and Panasonic.

1) Olympus will unveil new ompact cameras and the very interesting high-end compact camera (see the picture on top). It’s called XZ-1, it features the same [shoplink 17288]Panasonic LX5[/shoplink] sensor (10 Megapixel and 1:1.63 size). That camera will feature an amazing 28-112mm f/1.8-2.5 Lens!!!! That’s a lens I would love to have for Micro Four Thirds also instead of my old and cheap [shoplink 17922 ebay]C-mount lens zoom[/shoplink] :(
2) Panasonic will launch a new “S” compact series. There will be a DMC-S1 and DMC-S3. But there will be more new compact cameras like the Panasonic DMC-TS3, Panasonic DMC-FH2 and the Panasonic FH5.

Japanaese 2010 system camera sales analysis.

Share

BCNranking posted the digital system cameras sales share of the whole 2010 (To be exact until the 12th of December)! Three Panasonic cameras  (the [shoplink 14828]GF1[/shoplink], [shoplink 14834]G2[/shoplink] and the G1) and two Olympus cameras (the [shoplink 14832]E-Pl1[/shoplink] and the E-P1) are into the top 20 of the most sold cameras with interchangeable lenses. The GH2 has come been available since late October only that’s why it didn’t made it into the top 20. There is still a lot to do to catch up Canon and Nikon but as you can see the situtation is changing slowly in favour of the new mirrorless cameras. Do you have any suggetsion to make for Panaosnic and Olympus on how to close the gap between them and the Canikon dominance?

SLRmagic lens update (with new 12mm fast lens coming)

Share
[shoplink 14881 ebay][/shoplink]

The SLRmagic company sent me a new email to say they will soon release more new Micro Four Thirds lenses. The next lens should be a fast 12mm prime. They didn’t told me how fast but I hope that it will come as close as possible to the [shoplink 18651 ebay]Avenir CCTV Lens (Click here to see it on eBay)[/shoplink] which has a f/1.2 aperture. Reminder: All those SLRmagic lenses are cheap-quality non-professional manual lenses. But they are cheap and do have a Micro Four Thirds mount (there is no need for adapter). If you are looking for a professional wide angle lens you should go for the new [shoplink 16258]Panasonic 14mm f/2.5 pancake[/shoplink] or wait for the next Olympus wide-pancake lens which will be announced during the next few months!

P.S.: Currently there are two SLRmagic lenses on eBay (Sold by the producer)
