Klaus from Photozone (Click here) analyzed the Olympus 75mm f/1.8 lens performance. And the conclusion is: “The Olympus M.Zuiko 75mm f/1.8 ED is, by quite a margin, the best micro-four-thirds lens that we have tested to date.” If you know Klaus he is quite sever in his judgments. Olympus really should do more lenses like the 75mm prime!

E-P3 with kit lens for $379!

The E-P3 has been announced almost two years ago and the price for the camera with kit lens was $899. And as you know digital stuff quickly looses the value and you can today there is a new price drop that pushes the price down to $379 at Amazon (Click here) and Adorama (Click here).

Of course this happens because the Olympus E-P5 is going to be announced soon (on May 10th according to TVsmith).

Olympus sends out invitations for May 11 presentation (but announcement should be on May 9)

Olympus Japan and Olympus Malaysia are sending out invitiations for a first “touch and try” event with the new PEN. But I have been told by one source that the announcement will be made earlier “probably around May 9”.

(FT5) Specs: E-P5 is an “improved” E-M5.

A trusted source told me that the E-P5 image I posted yesterday is definitely real. He confirmed that the E-P5 has the same image quality of the E-M5 because it uses the same sensor and same True Pic engine. But he also told me the E-P5 has a faster AF and better 5 axis stabilization system than the current [shoplink 29074]Olympus E-M5[/shoplink]. The new VF-4 external viewfinder will be announced the same day of the E-P5 and has 2,36 Million dot (it’s from Epson). The E-P5 also has built-in WiFi, something the E-M5 has not.
