As noticed by our reader “Dutch” the Limited edition Black 12mm lens is definitely gone from all major US stores like Amazon (not available), Adorama (not listed) and Bhphoto (no more listed). I guess Olympus will soon release a “Normal edition” and “Normal” priced Black 12mm soon :)

A trusted source told me to trust him (LOL) when he says that a native Four Thirds camera is going to be announced this year. He is 100% sure that this is not a hybrid MFT and FT camera but simply a new E-7 FT. He also told me the camera is also ready to go into final production and all specs are defined (alreayd since end of last year). The camera will be on amrket the second half of this year. Good news for all those folks using top class Zuiko FT lenses :)

The German company SVS-Vistek announced the first Industrial Micro Four Thirds camera. The name is “EVO Tracer” and it reminds me of my nice [shoplink 37063 ebay]Hasselblad 903SWC camera[/shoplink] with that cube style :)

A source just told me that there will be an “impending Olympus announcement in April“. It seems to be something “Big” but we have to see if this is related to a new camera/lens announcement or whatever.
I ask my sources to check into this. All I know is that an E-P5 and new f/2.8 zoom will hit the market in June. Don’t know if the announcement will come earlier in April.

There was a time when everyone was talking about the 3D future. And we MFT users also got the first 3D lens for a digital mirrorless system from Panasonic (the 12.5mm f/8 here at Amazon). Now the hype is over but I am sure 3D will come back. Image Sensor World spotted that Panasonic design explaining the new Single Lens technique. Instead of using special 3D lenses you focus on the use f special 3D sensors. I guess smartphones and compact cameras may will be released with the mentioned technique. Don’t believe Panasonic will make a MFT 3D camera but if they do you may be able to use all your MFT lenses for shooting 3D. Nice.
