First time in Stock in US: Fotodiox “Speed Booster” adapter and Panasonic GF6 and G6

We have two new items in Stock for the first time at Amazon US:

2) The Panasonic GF6 is in Stock via Samys at Amazon (Click here). Only two left in Stock.

3) The Fotodiox Vizelex Cannon Nikon G to MFT adapter is now in Stock at Amazon (Click here). It works like the Metabones Speed Booster but has no electronic contacts and quality of the images seem to be pretty bad. Read the testings at personal-view :(

One more thing: 43rumors reader BDV contacted Fotodiox and they told him that “There are no plans in making the light cannon for m42”. Would be nice to know what else they have on roadmap!

(FT2) Is that the design of the upcoming Olympus 25mm f/1.8 lens?

Rumors about a possible release of a new Olympus 25mm f/1.8 MFT lens are floating around since end of 2012. And now that image of the possible lens design appeared on Julur.com. The design discloses the filter size (46mm) and of course focal length and aperture. There is no info about the overall size of the lens. I hope it will be a pancake like the glorious [shoplink 14796]Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 lens[/shoplink]. And of course it shouldn’t be epxensive.

Just for fun let’s see if….

you would buy the Olympus 25mm f/1.8 pancake for $400.

Samsung shows you why people prefers DSLR over Mirrorless :)

The video made by Samsung shows us in a funny way one of the reason why Mirrorless is having a hard time to convince people that they are as good as DSLR cameras. Chapeau Samsung for making such a video!

From my personal experience I can tell you that this is definitely true. Even more serious photographers sometimes buy tremendous stuff without really needing it. Just because they “think” it’s better.

Personal note: I shot pics of my son with the E-P1 and the [shoplink 15659]Nokton 25mm f/0.95[/shoplink]. Not because these are the best cameras and lenses on market…but because that’s all I need!

There is a new super expensive Zeiss MFT lens.

If you have a massive amount of money to spend on a new Cine Zoom lens than you may be interested to learn that Zeiss announced the new CZ.2 28-80 T2.9. It has what ZEISS calls a “sweet spot effect” (uniformity of illumination) when used on Super 35 sensors and are “future-proofed” for next generation digital cinema cameras that may have larger sensors (Source: Fdtimes).

T front diameter is 95 mm, the focus rotation angle is almost 300 degrees, it is conform to “4K production standards” and cover a resolution of 4096 x 2160 with no distortion. The ZEISS Compact Zoom lenses weigh 2.5 to 2.8 kilograms (5.5 to 6.2 pounds).

Oh yes…the price…that’s the problem: You have to pay €14,900 or US$19,900 (excluding VAT)!

2) Robin Wong (Click here) posted the second part of his ongoing E-P5 review. The tested the “Macro” capability of the new PEN. Robin posted some great image sampels! Check it out!

Not again! Fuji cheats (a bit) on MFT vs APS-C sensor size comparison…

Incredible! This is the third time and the third company that cheats on a sensor size comparison by reducing the real size of the MFT sensor. The video on top is made by Fuji and shows a sensor size comparison. I noticed that the size of the APS-C sensor was huge compared to MFT sensor. So I took time to analyze the size comparison image from wikipedia and noticed that the actual size of the APS-C sensor is smaller:

The Fuji X-M1 is a very nice camera and Fuji really doesn’t need to cheat to demonstrate they are doing a fine job.
