Our good source Simon wrote this a while back: “End of January PEN-F will be officially announced. But PEN-F is the components “tester” for EM-1 II. You will See 3 very New Featues in Pen F.” He also said focus on PEN-F will be faster than on other MFT cameras. Now I hope he will read this post and give us some insights on the new features!

(FT5) First image of the new PEN-F

This is the world’s first image of the new PEN-F! The camera we first “rumored” months ago. The image got leaked via Digicameinfo. The cameras has the 75mm Zuiko and a small grip. Lot of dials on the top and the integrated viewfinder in the corner can be seen too.

The German blog Pen And Tell posted the first unboxing pictures. He also shared his first impressions on that post (google translation here). He compared the new lens with the [shoplink 22405 ebay]”older” 300mm f/2.8 FT lens[/shoplink]:

The old Zwo-Eight’s is allowed to sit comfortable on his throne. The new f/4.0 lens is indeed superior on mobile shots, but when it comes to high-end and plastic reproduction, the f/2.8 FT can comfortably is still superior. Glass is simply irreplaceable.
The new f/4.0 MFT is a high-tech product that pushes the limits. The f/2.8 FT is a lens for the soul. And the biceps.

In summary: Reinhard thinks the new lens strong selling points are the quality of shot handheld. It’s a way more mobile lens than the FT version. But for ultimate quality and bokeh the FT lens is still slightly superior.

Shenyang China, Jan 12, 2016 – Shenyang Zhongyi Optics (ZY Optics), a leading Chinese manufacturer of camera lenses and focal reducers, has provided additional options for Micro Four Thirds camera users by releasing three new Lens turbo adapters. The new adapters allows full frame lenses with M42 screw mount or Canon FD mount or Minolta MD mount to be used in Micro Four Thirds cameras with a wider angle of view and faster aperture. These new turbo adapters are compatible with cameras with Micro Four Thirds mount including the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (BMPCC) and work extremely well for video production.
Similar to the previous Zhongyi Lens Turbo (ver II), the new MFT turbo adapter features a structure of 4 lens elements in 4 groups, including 1 extra-low dispersion element which helps in reduce the chromatic aberrations on the image. The angle of view of the camera lenses will be increased by 0.726x and the max. aperture will be improved by 1-stop. Version II of the lens turbo adapter has a complete different optical design from version 1 and a much improved coating. The optical performance also upgrades tremendously.
