(FT3) E-P5 has no integrated viewfinder? New external viewfinder.

WIll the new PEN have no integrated viewfinder like the superb [shoplink 37006 ebay]PEN-F[/shoplink]?

There are plenty of rumors going around the web saying the E-P5 has an integrated viewfinder. And I am also one of those guys wishing to see a camera like that. But sometimes wishes just remain that…dreams. I still have no FT5 super reliable rumor yet but the only info I got is that the E-P5 actually has no integrated viewfinder! The rumor hasn’t been confirmed by a second source yet and even trusted sources sometimes can get wrong info from their sources so take it with a grain of salt. But if the rumor would be correct this would be huge disappointment for me. Although of course we have to see what the specs are…they may be so good that I will not care about the missing built-in EVF.

The source also told me that the E-P5 will come along a new external viewfinder with a 2,44 Million dot resolution.
P.S.: PEN-F acutions on [shoplink 37006 ebay]eBay (Click here)[/shoplink]. Great cam!

(FT3) There may be a17mm f/1.8 Black lens edition soon…

The current [shoplink 34914]Silver 17mm[/shoplink] lens.

After the 12mm f/2.0 Black edition Olympus may soon launch the 17mm f/1.8 Black edition too! I am not sure this will be a lens marked as “limited edition” and as consequence cost more than the actual lens. I hope Olympus don’t do that again (the overpriced limited edition). They should just release it in Black with the same price of the current lens :)

(FT4) Trusted source: E-5 successor coming for sure.

[shoplink 17163][/shoplink]

A trusted source told me to trust him (LOL) when he says that a native Four Thirds camera is going to be announced this year. He is 100% sure that this is not a hybrid MFT and FT camera but simply a new E-7 FT. He also told me the camera is also ready to go into final production and all specs are defined (alreayd since end of last year). The camera will be on amrket the second half of this year. Good news for all those folks using top class Zuiko FT lenses :)

(FT3) Surprise announcement from Olympus in April?

A source just told me that there will be an “impending Olympus announcement in April“. It seems to be something “Big” but we have to see if this is related to a new camera/lens announcement or whatever.

I ask my sources to check into this. All I know is that an E-P5 and new f/2.8 zoom will hit the market in June. Don’t know if the announcement will come earlier in April.

Something else: I am surprised ot see how many of you liked the idea to have a digital version of the current [shoplink 37006 ebay]Olympus PEN-F (here on eBay)[/shoplink]. Results of your voting can be seen here:

(FT5) Two new cameras to come from Panasonic in April and a camera for a new “camera line”.

Finally we are back on track on rumors and new products are about to be announced in early April! To be more specific I have been told by two different sources that Panasonic is going to announce two new MFT cameras in early-mid April and another completely new camera that will be the first of a new line of cameras. I have no clue yet about what Panasonic means with that “new line”. It could be a new high end compact camera with fixed lens or something completely different. Sources didn’t unveil that.

Anyway, I am 90% sure the info I got in these weeks is correct. I hope other sources can soon share me some info about all three cameras by contacting me at 43rumors@gmail.com or by sending an anonymous message via the website contact form (on the right side of the website).

On the other (Olympus) side I got only an info about a possible June release of the E-P5. But let’s see if there will be something else in April too…

Olympus/Panasonic 2013 roadmap sketch.

With all those rumors it’s easy to loose the overview so I thought to share this homemade baby styled roadmap design :)

There will be more than just the mentioned cameras and lenses. For example new Sigma and Tamron lenses and maybe a new Blackmagic MFT camcorder too. But this is more or less what I got. I am working to collect the single info and specs from each of the mentioned camera and lens. If you find some info share it at 43rumors@gmail.com or use the anonymous contact form on the right sidebar.

Based on that bay roadmap let me know what the most exciting new stuff is (selecta a maximum of three options):
