(FT4) There is also a high end MFT zoom coming along the new OMD announcement.

Image on top: the Four Thirds [shoplink 25320 ebay]Zuiko 14-35mm f/2.0[/shoplink]. Same quality can be expected by the new f/2.8 zoom.

Two sources told me that there will be a new High End MFT zoom lens. I don’t have reliable info about the lens specs but I have been told the lens has an f/2.8 aperture. There is no chance to see f/2.0 zoom like the [shoplink 25320 ebay]Zuiko 14-35mm f/2.0 (here one Bay)[/shoplink] or [shoplink 25119 ebay]Zuiko35-100mm f/2.0(here one Bay)[/shoplink] lens. But at least the new High End OMD will be able to use the full AF potential of these existing FT lenses.

P.S.: The new High End Lens and the High End OMD will be announced the second week of September!

(FT4) Possible E-M1 description

These could be some of the changes you see on the new High End OMD that could be named E-M1. I also have been told the new camera is a tiny bit bigger. It will be also interesting to see how they will support the FT mount lenses! It’s said that the FT lenses will 100% be compatible with that camera. That’s why the new OMD will be also the successor of the current [shoplink 17163 ebay]Olympus E-5[/shoplink] camera too! One camera to rule them all!

Black GX7 could come to US too if demand is there. Updated preorder list (US, CA, UK, DE).

For some weird reason not all kits and colors are available in every country. For example US stores do not sell the Black Camera (again..weird), 20mm kit is not selling in Germany and so on. An US source told me that Panasonic will sell the Black camera only if the demand is be high. So let’s do a little help for Panasonic marketing department and let them know what GX7 package is your prefered.

But first the updated preorder list that now includes Canada and Germany preorders too:

Silver GX7 body at Amazon US, BHphoto, Adorama, Samys, Henrys and Wex Deutschland, Wex UK ,and Amazon JP.

(FT5) Again: MFT Schneider lenses coming in 2014.

A reader asked me what happened to the Schneider MFT lens development. I asked again my Schneider source and he confirmed that Schneider plans to release those lenses in 2014 only. The reason is the limited lens production capability of Schneider. They first want to produce enough of their special video lenses before to release the new Micro Four Thirds lenses. There is a chance that some lens specs will change in the meantime. The original plan was to introduce the 14mm f/2.0 the 30mm f/1.4 and the Macro 60mm f/2.4. All lenses will come with full electronic AF and Aperture support. Internal focusing, aluminum weather proof case. I do hope they will get rid of the macro (we already have the Olympus version).

A Xenon 16mm f/1.2 would be a nice replacement for the macro  :)

Current Schneider lenses:

(FT5) New High End OMD is also the E-5 successor (hybrid MFT and FT mount).

It’s almost a year now that we speculate about a new Olympus hybrid mount camera. And finally I got multiple feedbacks from sources saying that indeed Olympus will launch a High End OMD camera in September that will have 100% full support for both MFT and FT lenses. And surprise, the High End OMD also replaces the current [shoplink 17163]Olympus E-5 FT camera[/shoplink]! The High End OMD is placed a step above the current [shoplink 29074]Olympus E-M5[/shoplink]. The High End OMD doesn’t replace the E-m5 and the E-m5 will get replaced in 2014.

So what about the mount? I am still not 100% sure on this but it seems that the new High End OMD has some sort of hybrid MFT and FT mount. How this should work I don’t know yet. Hope more sources can read this post and answer that question soon. Thanks!

(FT5) High End OMD is coming!!!

Finally an FT5 rumor about the new Olympus OMD camera! To be honest the latest 48hours I got around five OMD rumors from five different sources! I am now working out the specs and trying to triple check them before to post them on 43rumors. But all I can say for sure now is that a High End OMD camera will be announced. It will NOT be a replacement of the current [shoplink 29074]Olympus E-M5[/shoplink]. It is a high specs and more expensive camera!

I Thank all sources for their help! If they can, they may send me some more info about the new Olympus lens too? Thanks You!

The popular Creative Control mode performs beautifully with 22 filter effects. You can even adjust the parameter of each filter effect to capture your true artistic vision. With the Creative Panorama function, you can shoot a horizontal/vertical panoramic image with consecutive shots by overlaying the previous picture. * For photos only, and some filters cannot be used in Creative Panorama mode

In-Camera Stabilization for Non-Stabilized Lenses
The LUMIX GX7 incorporates an optical image stabilizer-like technology directly in the camera body. This in-camera LUMIX MEGA O.I.S.* technology works as effectively with interchangeable non-optically stabilized lenses, to enjoy blur-free photography.
* Nearly as effective as the LUMIX MEGA O.I.S. in LUMIX DSLM lenses.

Focus Accuracy with Focus Peaking and Magnification Windows
For more precise control over focusing, the LUMIX GX7 incorporates Focus Peaking that shows the peak of focus. The precise area of focus is indicated while viewing the subject in live view. Pin-Point AF allows you to set magnification from 3x to 10x. The One-Shot AF sets the rough focus on the subject where you can then go back to MF to adjust precise focus.

Share Instantly with Wi-Fi and One-Touch Device Connection with NFC
With the Panasonic Image App, you can use a smartphone or tablet to control zoom, set focus, and shoot remote from a distance. The Wi-Fi setup is quick and easy and picture data can be transferred to a designated electronic device right after shooting. Expand Your Creativity with a Full Line-Up of Lenses
The LUMIX GX7 achieves ultra fast performance with a maximum 1/8000 shutter speed. In-body optical image stabilizer-like image stabilization*, delivers exceptional performance when mounting non-stabilized lenses to the LUMIX GX7. Every Panasonic LUMIX lens is exclusively designed for DSLM cameras taking advantage of digital technologies such as high-precision, high-speed Contrast AF.
* Nearly as effective as the LUMIX MEGA O.I.S. in LUMIX DSLM lenses.

Panasonic delivers a 16.00-Megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor that achieves both high resolution and high sensitivity image quality with minimum noise. The Venus Engine features advanced noise reduction systems delivering smooth images especially in low light scenes. The Live MOS Sensor works in concert with the Venus Engine achieving a maximum ISO of 25600.

Touch Enabled 3.0″ Tilt-able LCD
Optimized for even sunny, outdoor shooting, the 1040K-dot high-resolution static-type touch monitor delivers approximately 100% field of view and tilts up by 45 degrees and down by 80 degrees. The front panel is directly attached to the In Cell Touch LCD without containing an air layer in-between, resulting in reduced reflection of external light. Combined with increased resolution, the monitor for LUMIX GX7 delivers higher visibility even in sunny outdoor shooting.

Light Weight, Durable Magnesium Alloy Body
Dressed in a magnesium alloy, full die-cast frame, the LUMIX GX7 boasts high durability for any shooting situation. State-of-the-art imaging is delivered in a sophisticated, stylish metal body.

Premium Body Design with Precision Quality
Separate dials, on the top and back, improve manual shooting performance. The external design of the camera was developed with every detail in mind.
