(FT5) Hot! New Olympus OMD camera to be announced at Photokina in September!

According to two of our trusted sources Olympus plans to launch a new OMD MFT camera at Photokina in September! The sources didn’t share any specs or other info yet. But you can now start to dream about the new features of the camera. Tell us, what should the new OMD camera be like?

(FT4) Olympus E-PL7 (OMD-10 spec clone) to be announced soon.

The full E-Pl7 manual have been already leaked long time ago. And now it seems the camera is finally going to be announced within the next few days! The E-Pl7 has exactly the same E-M10 specs with the only difference being the “missing” integrated EVF and come changes on the button layout.

(FT5) Confirmed: Panasonic FZ1000 1 inch sensor is from Sony.

The 1 inch sensor of the FZ1000.

One of my very best sources (Thanks You!) confirmed the 1 inch sensor used by the new Panasonic FZ1000 is from Sony. It’s actually the same RX100M3 sensor but unlike Sony Panasonic managed to solve the heating issue to make it record 4K.

The source told me people shouldn’t get confused because Panasonic calls it “MOS”. It’s just a marketing thing. It is the Sony BSI CMOS sensor :)

(FT5) Confirmed by trusted sources: New fixed lens and FT sensor compact coming!

LX vs FT sensor size comparison. Image courtesy: Cameraimagesensor.

Last week an Asian source from SLRclub Korea (found via Dicahub) said Panasonic has a large sensor camera coming soon. I worked on that rumors and two highly trusted sources confirmed that Panasonic will launch a fixed lens compact camera with built-in EVF and a Four Thirds sized sensor. One of the sources also said this is not a “LX” camera.

The camera will be announced before Photokina sometimes in late August or very early days of September!

(FT5) Rumor correction and confirmation: Next Panasonic announcement in late August and not in mid July!

Two trusted sources told me that the new high-end compacts will be announced one month later than previously rumored. Not on July 16 but sometimes in late August! But they also confirmed the large sensor fixed lens camera is coming for sure!

And one more thing: Some hot rumors are about to come soon ;)

(FT4) Mitakon considering to make a 50mm f/0.95 Speedmaster lens.

After launching the [shoplink 46675 ebay]Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 for E-mount (here on eBay)[/shoplink] Mitakon is seriously considering to make proper Micro Four Thirds version of it.

Don’t know how much sense it makes to launch such a lens. We already have superb (and also cheap) 50mm f/0.95 lenses…

For the record. These are the five f/o.95 MFT lenses we have now:
Nokton 25mm f/0.95 ([shoplink 36580 ebay]here one Bay[/shoplink]).
Nokton 17.5mm f/0.95 ([shoplink 36581 ebay]here one Bay[/shoplink]).
Nokton 42.5mm f/0.95 (not in Stock yet, save this search for notification).
SLRmagic 50mm f/0.95 ([shoplink 29455 ebay]here one Bay[/shoplink]).
