(FT5) No entry level GH camera coming any time soon.

A highly trusted source confirmed that there will be no “entry-level” GH camera from Panasonic. The simple strategy from Panasonic is to lower the price of the camera that gets replaced. Like it happened with the GH3 after the GH4 release.

The source said the GH4 sales exceeded the expectations and Panasonic is also preparing a “surprise” for current GH4 owners…

Debunking rumors from others: There is no Full Frame OMD coming at Photokina.

Since yesterday you can see links posted on forums (and even on my comment system) to rumor/news sites that claims to know that Olympus will launch a Full Frame OMD.

Well, of course you can never be 100% sure on any rumor (not even on 43rumors). But as far as I heard this is completely fake!!! I know I am not spectacular when I say this but as far as I heard Olympus will “only” announce an E-PL7 and probably a Silver E-M1 is going to be announced at photokina (among some great PRO lenses).

That said of course I would love to get a Full Frame version of the OMD. That’s why for once I posted a FT1 rumor months ago to keep dreaming a bit… :)

(FT5) Confirmed: New MFT camera and FT sensor-fixed lens compact from Panasonic coming!

I can confirm via highly trusted sources that Panasonic is going to announce two new “Four Thirds sensor” cameras by end of August/early September:

1) A new Micro Four Thirds camera
2) A fixed lens Four Thirds sensor compact camera

I hope to get the specs about them soon!

(FT5) Olympus E-PL7 specs confirmed via Digicameinfo

Image on top shows the E-Pl6.

Digicameinfo confirmed the E-PL7 specs that have been already leaked weeks ago. This is likely the only real new Micro Four Thirds camera that Olympus will announce at Photokina. The other “new” MFT camera may be just a Silver E-M1 edition.

(FT3) Deleted from the Panasonic roadmap: The 100-300 f/4.0 X.

A month ago Panasonic unveiled at Imaging Resource that they withdraw the plan to release a high end X zoom lens. Well, one of our anonymous sources told us that the planed lens specs were: 100-300mm f/4. So now I am curious to hear from you guys if you would have been interested to buy such a lens or not:

Would you consider to buy a high end 100-300mm f/4 X lens?

(FT4) UPDATED: New High End OMD may just be the Silver E-M1 :(

UPDATE: One of our good sources contacted me to say that unlike some speculation made by our readers the new OMD camera that Olympus will launch in September is neither a E-M5 replacement nor a complete new OMD model. And I got word from two sources that the new OMD may be just a new Silver E-M1 with new firmware update.

This means no real NEW OMD camera is coming at Photokina. Hope other sources will contact me to confirm or deny the rumor.
