I got some more info and confirmations from trusted sources. Those are the next three lenses coming from Olympus:

1. 30mm f/3.5 macro lens
2. A new standard PRO zoom lens
3. And the long time rumored new 25mm f/1.2 PRO prime lens

The 30m macro will be announced soon while the other two lenses might be announced at Photokina. I am particularly curious about the new PRO zoom. I am wondering what the range will be…

We know from top sources that Olympus will launch a new 25mm f/1.2 lens this year. One of the sources told me that there could be a short delay with the lens announcement. The lens was expected to be announced this summer. Now the best bet for the announcement is September (Photokina).

But before that lens Olympus will definitely launch the already leaked 30mm f/3.5 macro lens.

What you see here above is another image sample shot on the soon to be announced new Olympus 30mm f/3.5 macro lens. Click on the image to see a large version of the image. It certainyl looks like a good performing lens!

Olympus had to delay the E-PL8 launch due the Sony sensor production stop in Kumamoto. Now it’s unclear when exactly Olympus can release the camera. But a trusted source confirmed this:

1. The camera will come in three colors: black, white, light brown.
2. The camera has the “usual” 16MP Sony MFT sensor

Along the camera Olympus will also announce the new 30mm f/3.5 macro lens. Not sure tough if they will also announce the new 25mm f/1.2 PRO lens at the same time.

The full Olympus 30mm macro lens details just leaked via Amazon China:

• 1.25X image magnification
  
• 7 lens elements in 6 groups
• Closest focus distance is 0.095 meters
• 40 degree angle of view
• Aperture range f3.5 to f22

The official announcement is imminent. It’s unclear if Olypus will also announce the E-PL8 too.
