From the press text:

Introducing the Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera, a miniaturized Super 16mm, professional digital film camera that is designed to be operated remotely and capture action anywhere! A revolutionary built in expansion port has PWM and S.Bus inputs so you can use a model airplane remote control to operate the camera wirelessly. Imagine adjusting focus, iris and zoom wirelessly! The Micro Cinema Camera is a true digital film camera that features built in RAW and ProRes recording, 13 stops of dynamic range, a global shutter and an MFT lens mount. You get a true digital film camera that can go where no other digital film camera can!

The Super 16 sensor is full 1080 HD resolution and has an incredible 13 stops of dynamic range and global shutter up to 30 frames per second. Most DSLR and action cameras use a rolling shutter that exposes different parts of the image in fractions of a second, causing video to appear skewed or wobbly when the camera moves or vibrates. The Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera’s global shutter acts more like a still camera, exposing the entire image at the same time so you get distortion and ripple free video! With an ISO up to 1600, the Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera also gives you great quality, even in locations with low lighting.

Panasonic announces the AG-DVX200 4K large-sensor 4/3” handheld camcorder and the GH4 firmware udpate

We got our hands on the full Panasonic press release od the AG-DVX200 4K large-sensor, 4/3” handheld camcorder and the GH4 firmware update. Images will follow soon here on 43rumors. In the meantime read the full press text:

At a press conference today at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention, Panasonic announced a range of new 4K production products, including the AG-DVX200 4K large-sensor, 4/3” handheld camcorder; AK-UB300 4K multi-purpose camera, and the AK-UC3000 4K-ready studio system.

AG-DVX200 4K Large-Sensor Handheld Camcorder Features Top-End Performance

Offering many top-end features such 4K/60p recording, a 13X optical zoom and a V-Log L gamma curve (12 stops of latitude, target) and delivering a shallow depth of field and a wide field of view, the DVX200 is the ideal companion camera to the company’s groundbreaking VariCam 35 4K camera/recorder.

The DVX200 will be optimized for 4K/HD production and shares the esteemed VariCam family characteristics of filmic tonality and colorimetry, with natural, subtle rendering of skin flesh tones. It will offer a V-Log curve emulating the natural grey-scale rendition of the VariCam 35. The camcorder will be available in Fall 2015 with a suggested list price under $5000.

At NAB, it was announced that the award winning LUMIX GH4 will have firmware update (Ver.2.2) available later this month, enabling recording anamorphic video content. Unlike complex digital post processing needed to achieve the classic Hollywood look, many effects that have became so popular with anamorphic film capture can now be achieved optically in the LUMIX GH4.

Capio Studio (video on top):Winter Tread is a proof of concept by Capion Studio for a future short film revolving around the New England area. This piece serves as a mood and style guide to some of the artistic choices of shooting the particular story. The narrative piece will explore thematic notions of the dream world and the subconscious psyche. It is our plan to be able to utilize aerial photography to capture the scope and depth of lucid dreaming. For Winter Tread, we focused on winter as a less literal element, inferring the season as a state of being, or a hardship leading to brighter days. This element (literally and figuratively) will play a significant part in the character’s psyche, branching out with strong visual effects.
