(FT5) Panasonic LX100 has 16MP multiaspect sensor! And is smaller than the G1XII!

Share

I have now many more info about the LX100. It has a 16MP Four Thirds multi aspect sensor. Which means resolution should be a bit lower than 16MP. The size of the camera is really more compact than the Canon G1xII which uses a similar large sensor (see image on top).

– Sensor: 16MP Multi aspect Four Thirds(!). Real resolution is a bit lower.
– 24-75mm f/1.7-2.8 lens
– Built-in EVF: 2,76 milion dots, 1.39x / 0.7x magnification
– ISO 200-25600. Can be extended down to 100!
– 4K recording (with time limitation to avoid heating issue)
– exact camera size: 4.52″ x 2.6″ x 2.4″
– hot shoe

Announcement on Monday September 15 at 13:00 in Berlin time!

Would you consider buying a Panasonic LX100?

I hope the new LX100 looks like the gorgeus [shoplink 46868 ebay]Panasonic LC1[/shoplink] you see here on top :)

Good news folks! The Panasonic LX100 fixed lens and Four Thirds sensor camera will come with an exciting zoom lens: 24-75mm f/1.7-2.8!!! The camera can record 4K, has built-in EVF and will be announced next week on September 15!

I have no info about the price yet and no info about the sensor but I suspect it will use the same 16 MP GH4 sensor. I have been told the camera is surprisingly compact too! Here is the short question:

Stay tuned on 43rumors and follow the event live on September 15!

Note: One source told me initial aperture is f/1.8 and another f/1.7. But I “believe” the second source is right ;)

The “best” lens you can use on your MFT camera is now the new Otus 85mm 1.4.

Share

This is said to be the world’s best lens for system cameras. It’s the just announced Zeiss Otus 85mm f/1.4 which comes with Nikon mount (Click here) or Canon mount (Click here) at BHphoto. But being a manual focusing lens it can be better used on a mirrorless camera with focus peaking and other helpful features Canon and Nikon do not deliver yet. The real problem of that lens is as you can guess….the price :)

P.S.: Image samples can be seen on Flickr.
