Reminder: You can now preorder the new Capture One 21 on this page (Click here) with a 20% discount. It’s a bit tricky to preorder it so here I explain how to do it for C20 owners:

  1. Login to Capture One
  2. Go to the upgrade page and enter your license number
  3. Upgrade to C21 and get the 20% discount using the checkout code “PREORDER2020

If you do own C12 or older version you first have to purchase C20 (with no discount code). And they will than get C21 update for free.

New features and release time:

Capture One has decided to not disclose any info about the new features (I know this is odd). So if you wonder why the heck you should pay for a new version without knowing what you get…I can only give you one reason: The 20% discount that you get now and you will NOT get the day of the official launch!

The release date has not been announced but as usual expect the release to be between mid November and mid December.

According to a source the new E-M1X and E-M1III firmware update will be released in November. Olympus previously teased the launch of this big new update and said it’s coming sometimes in “winter”:

Press text:

FIRMWARE DEVELOPMENT FOR RAW VIDEO DATA OUTPUT

Olympus is pleased to announce development for firmware that enables output of RAW video data from the Olympus OM-D E-M1X and Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III mirrorless cameras to the ATOMOS NINJA V HDR monitor recorder. Data will be recorded to the ATOMOS NINJA V as Apple ProRes RAW for flexible image editing. This lends greater flexibility to professional video production post-processing tasks, such as adjusting exposure and color grading recorded footage. The firmware is being developed in collaboration with ATOMOS and is scheduled for release in Winter 2020.

Olympus will continue to support professional video production via hand-held high-definition video recording with their compact lightweight system, thanks to its unrivaled portability and powerful in-body 5-Axis Image Stabilization with 5-Axis Sync IS capabilities.

(FT5) Sony has one newly developed MFT sensor ready for early 2021

Share

Very solid sources told me that Sony has one very new MFT sensor that will be available for production in early 2021. I hope to get some specs soon but it’s really a major step forward from what I heard. I have no idea if this sensor will be suited by the next Panasonic GH6 camera or in some other new model.

But I promise you…I will work to get you details as soon as I can ;)
