Mr. Kitao Itirou (Panasonic) talks about the small GF2 and the next lenses…

Share

Mr. Kitao Itirou from Panasonic has been interviewed by DC.watch.impress. The text is in japanese and google translation does a terrible job here. The most interesting part of the Interview is at the end when Mr.Kitao talks about future products:

1) Mr.Kitao says they can design compact MicroFourThirds smaller than the [shoplink 14908]Sony NEX[/shoplink] cameras!

2) The next three lenses, the 25mm f/1.4 and the two bright zoom lenses will be both compact and high-quality lenses.

43rumors already told you the GF2 will be announced in January-February 2011 probably along the 25mm f/1.4 lens. The bright video zoom lens could be announced along the AG-AF100 in December. But that has to be confirmed by other sources…

Would be nice if one of our japanese friends could help us to translate the most interesting parts. To be sure I understood everything well…

Thanks!

Kowa announced yesterday that they will be making the 350mm f/4, 500mm f/5,6 and 850mm f/9,6 telephoto lenses for MicroFourThirds!
A suggestion: Make a MicroFourThirds version of the [shoplink 16501]Kowa 67mm f1.2 lens (Click here to see it on eBay)[/shoplink]…That would be an interesting lens!

UPDATED: Noktor is dead…or is it not?

Share

UPDATE: The website is back online! Noktor is alive!

This is the old 43rumors post:
You remember the 50mm f/0.95 Noktor lens? One of our readers just noticed that their website is gone. Check it out: http://noktor.com/products.php. I tried to contact them but I don’t get any answer. Lat time I heard them they told me that they wanted to make specially designed MicroFourThrids lenses. But that was 3-4 months ago. Someone knows more than me?

P.S.: The only place to watch if you want the lens is [shoplink 15629]eBay (no auction now)[/shoplink].

New hot deal: Panasonic GF1 with 20mm lens for $674.95!

Share

Sorry to bother you with a new deal post but Amazon is continually offering new interesting deals. 43rumors already told you that Panasonic will lower the price of the GF1. And finally you can have the Panasonic GF1 with 20mm f/1.7 Aspherical Lens for $674.95 at Amazon (Click here). That’s a $50 price drop. We europeans are not so lucky. The cheapest price I found in Germany is 684 Euro for the silver GF1 on Pixmania (and you pay 50 Euro more for the black or white GF1). How much is it in Dollars? 922!!!

Uematsu Michiharu (Panasonic) interview on Focus Numerique

Focus Numerique interviewed the big boss from Panasonic Uematsu Michiharu. I exctracted some interesting notes for you (google english translated text!):

– “With our new sensor, and a new processor that analyzes 120 images per second instead of 60, we managed to make the autofocus GH2 two times faster than the previous model.”

– “I still think that 12 MP are quite sufficient for our photographic use. In the case of GH2, it is primarily a marketing decision, not a technical choice. We must follow the market trends that impose even now augment the definition of our sensors.”

– Panasonic is working on a new electronic shutter but their priority now was to work on the 3D technology.

– 3D will work with the [shoplink 16254]GH2[/shoplink] and the [shoplink 14834]G2[/shoplink] only (other cameras are not powerful enough).
