(UPDATED) First Olympus XZ-1 review by DSLRmagazine (spanish)

DSLRmagazine is the very first website to post an Olympus XZ-1 review (Click here to read the google english translated text). They made a very detailed and accurate test. Those are a few interesting discoveries:

– The lens resolution is very high at 28mm and wide open (f/1.8)! Resolution decreases on the tele end.
– Moderate distorion at 28mm
– Moderate Vignetting at 28mm and f/1.8
– Very good autofocus and metering!
– Veyr good image quality up to ISO 800.

All in all a very good camera that is on par (if not slightly better) than the competition ([shoplink 17288]Panasonic LX5[/shoplink], Samsung EX1 and Canon S95)

Sorry if I post a Nikon rumor on 43rumors but when we just got a “FT5” rumor about Nikon that will interest many 43rumors readers. One thing we were missing until today is a mirrorless pro system with advanced cameras that can compete against the best APS-C DSLR cameras. Now the same sources that usually are sending us top Panasonic and Olympus rumors now contacted us to say that both Olympus and Nikon will announce their PRO cameras in quarter two (Nikon will announce it in April)!

I repeat it, Nikon’s new system will not compete against the low entry Micro Four Thirds cameras like the [shoplink 17361]GF2[/shoplink] and [shoplink 18844]E-PL2[/shoplink]. [/shoplink] According to a new 43rumors source: “Tokina will introduce at PMA (CliQ) 2011 two autofocus lenses for the m4/3 mount. The first one will be a 17/2.0 or faster pancake. The second one will be a 8-16mm/3.5-4.5 or faster. Both lenses will feature internal focusing and a build quality similar to the excellent [shoplink 19059 ebay]Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8[/shoplink]. OIS and linear motor is under consideration as Tokina is out-sourcing, as usual, the technology to contractors. Don’t make fun of me because of that baby-graph I posted here :)

We posted so many rumors that it’s good to post a visual summary of what could be coming soon. Keep in mind that those are rumors. Some of them may be true, some will change and some of them may be turn out to be false. But one thing I can tell you. Panasonic and Olympus will very soon announce MANY new Micro Four Thirds products. Just curious…
