Surprise. Cliq show (ex PMA) deleted!

Share

Ahhhh! The Cliq photoshow 2011 in September has been deleted (Source: PDN, Found via: Photorumors). The Cliq show will mere with the CES show! That’s a short excerpt form the press release: “The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and PMA International have agreed in principle to move the 2011 PMA International Convention and Trade Show (aka CliQ 2011) to colocate with 2012 International CES, January 10-13, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nev.

So where are all big camera makers going to show their cameras? I have a huge garden in front of my house. I could organize a barbecue with Olympus and Panasonic. Joke apart. A wonder what’s the reason behind that decision. Sounds like some of the big ones maybe would not have participated or would not have announced new products?

Panasonic GH2 dumped! A big step closer to the final hack!

Share

Good news for all Panasonic GH2 owners! Vitaly (the hacker) managed to dump the firmware of the Panasonic GH2! He can now start the reverse engineering process. It will take some time to understand the GH2 code. But we now have to right to dream the new features we would love to add to our GH2 (50/60P for example?).

There is also one more good news. Unlike the GH1 the GH2 video uses the RAM instead of ROM. You could be able to update the hacked software without to have to install one firmware hack update after another! Go Vitaly go!

P.S.: Don’t forget to support Vitaly’s work with a small (or huge) donation!

Valentin Sama’s prediction

Share

Our friend Valentin Sama wrote an article with his prediction about all digital camera makers. It’s a mix of rumros and speculations. In short:

Olympus:
He expects a new E-P2 successor and new Four Thirds cameras

Panasonic:
He expects the 25mm f/1.4 lens and a neww brighter and at the same time compacter zoom lens.

To read the full prediction list click here (google translated text).

One more thing: If all works fine I will soon have a very BIG rumor for you. let’s hope the trusted sources can confirm the new hot rumor!

follow Fuji X100 on MirrorlessRumors.

A message for our readers: Many of our readers here are interested in getting news about the Fuji X100. But many also not! The problem is that the X100 doesn’t really fit well inside the 43rumors website and that creates some controversy discussion. I think the X100 is an interesting camera and It’s certainly worth to mention this camera on 43rumors from time time for two reasons:
1) Fuji is a Four Thirds group member (but the X100 is not a 43 camera)
2) The X100 brings some nice innovations is nice to talk about

But I kindly ask you to follow my second website which is MirrorlessRumors.com. I am going to work very hard on that website to provide you with unique content. Today I posted a full list of Fuji X100 news (Click here). I will keep posting a few X100 news on 43rumors with the link to MirrorlessRumors so that readers will get used to the new website. I hope this is a good solution for all our readers. Thanks!

P.S.: I will soon post an article about my goals with MirrorrlessRumors.com. I really do think Mirrorless cameras are the future and I am excited about that!

P.P.S.: You can get the Fuji X100 right now at Amazon US (Click here). UPDATE: Out of Stock after 23 minutes!

Damn did we all love the GF1! The bad news is that you almost can’t find it in Stock anymore. Panasonic discontinued the camera and if you find them than certainly not for a reasonable price.. There are still readers asking me where they can get it for a decent price. One of our readers found a nice deal. You can get three display units for $400/270 Euro (body only):
– first display unit on [shoplink 21852 ebay]eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].
– second display unit on [shoplink 21851 ebay]eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].
– third display unit on [shoplink 21850 ebay]eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].

I don’t know how long those deals will last. Wish you Good Luck!

[shoplink 14834][/shoplink] Image on top: The Panasonic G2.
We just learned from our sources that the Panasonic G3 with 14-42mm kit lens will be priced at $649. That’s $150 less than the price of the [shoplink 14834]Panasonic G2[/shoplink] (original launch price in March 2010).
As we already told you the major changes will be the new 16 Megapixel sensor with FullHD recording and the new more compact design (with focus on touchscreen controls). There will be no other big changes. Announcement is expected around May 11/12. The new Panasonic lenses will be announced in late August only.
