Samyang 24mm f/1.4 for Four Thirds coming by end of the year.

Thanks to Samyang current Four Thirds user can see the light of some new Four Thirds lenses. They just announced on their website (Click here) that by end of the year they will announce the 24mm f/1.4 fast wide angle! It will have 13 elements (in 12 groups) including four ED elements and two aspheric lenses. The lens is manual focusing only but the optical quality is on a very top level

There are currently two fast manual lenses you can get for your Olympus camera:

The two new Oly lenses, the 45mm and 12mm (Clubsnap)

You can read a new Olympus 45mm f/1.8 review made by Pekka Potka (Click here and than click on the 45mm link under “latest”): “The sweet point is from 2.8 to 5.6. Contrast and sharpness are very good. Shooting JPEGs I didn´t notice any need to worry about distortion, vignetting or chromatic aberrations. Lens has problems with flare only with sun hitting front lens against or nearly against the light. It is optically a lot better lens than its price tag says“.

Panasonic has no plan to make cameras with built-in stabilization! No PRO camera(s) coming :(

The polish website Optyczne (Click here) interviewed Mister Michiharu Uematsu from Panasonic. The most interesting points are:

1) When asked why they made use of a 16 Megapixel sensor for the GH2 he answered: “Mainly it is our response to market needs. In the future we want to balance the sensor and optics capabilities.“. So will Panasonic not participate the Megapixel race anymore?

2) And here is the reaosn why you want never see a Panasonic camera with built-in stabilization: “So far, no plans to assemble in a body-stabilized matrices. When recording movies acting to stabilize the matrix generates unnecessary noise on the soundtrack, and increases power consumption, and for all of our equipment we want efficient energy consumption.”

3) Panasonic is also aware that there is a need of more video zoom lenses (like the [shoplink 14802 ebay]Panasonic 14-140mm[/shoplink]) but they will NOT introduce a PRO camera :(

Correction: Gogole translation tool made a huge mistake. Panasonic will NOT(!) make a Pro camera (gogole translation tool didn’t add the “not” word).
