Olympus patent discloses a “Hasselblad” alike camera.

Share

The latest Olympus patent found by Egami (Click here) describes a new Vari-angle LCD screen. But what’s really intriguing is the medium Format design of the camera body. In some way it reminds me the leaked Samsung medium format camera. And seeing that there are rumors that Olympus may will work closer with Samsung this starts to look more than just a casual pattern. Below you can see the leaked Samsung image I posted months ago on MirrorlessRumors (Click here):

That’s just my speculation for now, but if Olympus is working on such a camera than the Samsung square sensor could be definitely the way to go!

Back to reality, camera companies do register plenty of patents that will never be applied on real camera. So don’t get too much exited about that one!

New Micro Four Thirds reviews roundup (GF3 gets DxOmarked).

DxOmark (Click here) tested the GF3 sensors: “We liked the GF3’s low-light ISO performance, its dimensions, and its price. This said, we were less enchanted by its ISO range, which we found limited its low-ISO scores in the Portrait and Landscape categories. (Its limited ISO also resulted in lower scores for Dynamic Range.)“. GF3 shop links: [shopcountry 23109].

New Panasonic GX1 review at Cnet Asia (Click here): “We have said before that the GX1 is what the GF3 should have been. Although, we wonder why they stuck with a seemingly industrial design and didn’t opt for something similar to the or the Fujifilm FinePix X10, which seems to be the trend these days“. Private message appendix…(Olympus camera in February?)

Share

Dear readers,

Many of you worried about me because of the post I wrote yesterday. I only wanted to add that I am not sick, and I am not going to stop the activity on 43rumors. I am having some issues to solve within my family and that’s why I could miss to post some news or not be that fast to answer your emails. So if it happens that you don’t hear about me for a few days you should know that I am very likely busy with family business.

That said, I really appreciate your kind words. It’ really gave me some energy I lost during the last weeks. I will need that because I know we are going to see many new m43 products within the next weeks. There will be the enw Panasonic lenses and I have been told Olympus could launch the new camera in February (yes, the new “revolutionary” camera). I will keep working on those rumors and I am glad we can have such an interesting time to share together.

Merry Christmas!
