The image you see here on top shows you the new super quality (and a bit expensive) [shoplink 31284]Olympus 75mm f/1.8 lens[/shoplink]. One of my sources now unveiled that also Panasonic will unveil a fast tele prime lens at Photokina. I have no specs yet but I hope it will be a bit cheaper so that we can put some pressure on Olympus 75mm price. This is not the only lens Panasonic will announce at Photokina but I have no reliable info about these lenses…for now!

Comparing the E-M5 (Sony) and G3 (Panasonic) 16 Megapixel sensors.

My friend Tyson Robicheaud (Click here) compared the [shoplink 29074]Olympus E-M5[/shoplink] with 16 Megapixel Sony sensor with the [shoplink 22077]Panasonic G3[/shoplink] and 16 Megapixel Panasonic sensor: “I really wanted to see how these two sensors compared to one another as I have been very impressed by the G3.” Check out his website to learn more about the test!

Meantime I remind you that on July 18th we will see the new G5 which has the same G3 sensor but a newly improved processor. Let’s hope the new GH3 (again 16 MPX?) sensor brings a major improvement in RAW quality too!

A 43rumors reader me the link to the youtube video you can watch here on top of this post. It’s a smart cup for the [shoplink 25104]Panasonic 14-42mm X lens[/shoplink]. As you see it works like the already existing LX5 lens cap that is available at Amazon. The 14-42mm X cap is a prototype. I have no info about if and when it will go into production.

Panasonic G3 and GX1 hack coming soon!

[shoplink 22077][/shoplink] Vitaly Kiselev is doing process on the [shoplink 26836]GX1[/shoplink] and [shoplink 22077]G3[/shoplink] hacking front. You can read more about it at PersonalView.com. It will add some features like for example full manual mode to video recording. As you may know you can already hack the GF and GH cameras. And I am sure 99% of you think that Vitaly’s work is adding a lot of value to the whole Micro Four Thirs system. It would be nice if he could hack Olympus cameras too but I don’t think this is going to happen any time soon :(

The GF3, G3 and GX1 got some nice discounts (some of them you already know).
