Patent discloses new Panasonic adapter with built-in mirror.

The newly published US Patent Application 20130141632 (Click here) discloses a Panasonic adapter with built-in mirror. The main goal is to have phase detection autofocus system. I don’t know if Panasonic is really going to realize and produce this.

(FT4) New sensor to be ready for end 2014 early 2015 only.

Share

I got this info by two trusted sources. The new GX7 will not feature an organic sensor and we can expect first camera using the new tech by end 2014 only (and probably shipment in 2015). And yes, the organic sensor tech can be combined with the Color Splitter technology from Panasonic!

This all sounds exciting but there is still a long way to go. Be happy with the old classic Bayer sensors for now :)

Full Panasonic G6 review at CameraLabs!

Share

Gordon Laing from CameraLabs (Click here) published the Lumix G6 review which is the most detailed to date – it’s 20,000 words long, which would be about 30 pages on most magazines or websites! So take a coffea and sit down when reading this :)

In very short this is his conclusion: “I’ll cut to the chase and say the Panasonic Lumix G6 is one of the most enjoyable and satisfying cameras I’ve used, sporting a powerful feature-set that’s the envy of rivals and great image quality that’s essentially as good as any of Canon’s 18 Megapixel APS-C models. I used this camera extensively during a driving trip around Europe and there’s little if anything more I could ask from it. Indeed I’d say it’s one of the best cameras at this price point whether you’re shopping for mirrorless or DSLR.

Poll: Panasonic-Fuji vs Olympus-Sony. Is that good news?

Share

The Micro Four Thirds system will dramatically change with the new Panasonic-Fuji vs Olympus Sony partnerships. It’s too early to see what exactly will change. Some of you believe this is bad news because Olympus-Sony and Panasonic-Fuji will collaborate more in their own systems (X and E-mount). Some of you believe that Fuji or Sony may be involved in the MFT system. I “believe” that at least in the short and mid term nothing will change in Panasonic and Olympus strategy. They will focus on the MFT system. Panasonic will use Fuji knowledge to create MFT cameras with organic sensor and Olympus will get the latest sensor tech from Sony.

Anyway, I ask you…

What is your feeling about the new partnerships?
