Panasonic GF7 review at CameraLabs.

There is a new Panasonic GF7 review at CameraLabs. This is a camera that didn’t get a lot of attention from the press and has no real big new WOW factor to make the announcement go viral. But for the money it can do a lot of things and Gordon from CameraLabs really likes the camera:

“The Lumix GF7 is a great little camera and I really enjoyed using it. If you take lot of selfies it is, without doubt, the best option, combining ease of use and fun, innovative modes while at the same time offering most of the things you’d expect from an advanced mirrorless compact system camera. The lack of a viewfinder, or the means to fit one, and the absence of a hot shoe are things that the target audience can probably live without. The poor battery life is disappointing, but not enough to deprive the GF7 of a well-deserved Recommended award.”

(FT3) Organic sensor: Panasonic in charge of production in change of Fuji’s technology.

Share

A “source” at DChome reports that Panasonic is in charge of production of the new organic sensor while Fuji will offer the full technology knowledge in exchange. But we still don’t know when the first organic sensor will find their way in Mass Production MFT cameras…

Reminder:
On paper the new Organic sensor has the following advantages over conventional sensors:
1) it has only 1/6 of the thickness of the current sensors
2) Increased Dynamic range of 88dB
3) 1,2 ISO stops more sensitive
4) range of incident angles of 60 degrees, efficiently utilizing light entering at an angle for faithful color reproduction with no color mixing. It also gives greater flexibility in lens designs, facilitating the reduction of overall camera size.
