43rumors reader Jose spotted that 8mm C-mount lens with MFT adapter. It’s the cheapest 8mm Fisheye Lens on the market. It sells for $60-$70 on [shoplink 55124 ebay]eBay (Click here)[/shoplink] and Aliexpress.

Here is a test video shot on that lens:

Olympus AIR review at TheNextWeb: “the Air A01 is a fun little contender”.

You save up to $200 on the new Olympus AIR with MFT lens bundle sold at Amazon US (Click here).

TheNextWeb reviewed the Olympus AIR A01 Micro Four Thirds camera.

When Olympus launched the A01, the first question on my mind was “who would actually want this?
The more I used it though, the more it made sense; the A01 strikes a balance of convenience and image quality that neither my phone nor camera have. It won’t be the ideal camera for everyone, but the possible uses are plenty. Whether you just want something better than your phone’s camera, are looking a small travel cam or already own compatible lenses, the Air A01 is a fun little contender.

Soundimagesplus writes:

So, as happens so often, I think something will work in one way and it ends up working well in another. And finally I would suggest that if the Air is of interest to you, it may well help to think of it as a serious camera, rather than some kind of smartphone accessory. Certainly that’s the mistake I made and I’m happy to say that my preconceptions have been proved to be misguided. Happy because I’m getting a lot more than I thought I was. And the Panasonic GX8 has, somewhat surprisingly, just got some serious competition for the Soundimageplus camera of the year. And who would have thought that?

Olympus AIR MFT camera is in Stock at Amazon US (Click here), Adorama (Click here), BHphoto (Click here) and on eBay in [shoplink 54844 ebay]White (Click here)[/shoplink] or [shoplink 54845 ebay]Black (Click here)[/shoplink].

Sony and Olympus do announce a new 4K partnership…on surgical endoscope system :)

Share

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-18 um 10.11.09

For a very short moment I was jumping off my chair. Sony Japan issued a press text with that new Sony & Olympus logo and with “4k” in the title. But after using the google translation tool I discovered Sony and Olympus announced a 4K partnership to develop 4K endoscope systems :)

Still, I hope Olympus will work with Sony to make some 4K ready sensor for the next generation of PEN and OMD cameras!

a bit of everything…

Fredrik (video above):I have made an animated GIF (and video) which illustrates how the OM-D sensor moves around when you hand hold the camera: m43photo.blogspot.com/2015/09/olympus-e-m5-mark-ii-sensor-shift-demo.html. This is fascinating in itself, and it also gives you impressively stable video recordings.

Johannes:This time the topic is not as hot as some of my last posts. but I did want to give it to a wider audience. m43 suffers a bit from affordable high performance lenses. Like the Nifty Fifty in the Canon world…I had some discussions in the mu43 forum – and gave the Sigma f2.8 30mm a try – and I am impressed… It is a good lens for a really fair price…This should be more public – especially for the people starting photography….delightphoto.zenfolio.com
