Meyer Optik annnounced a new Trimagon 95mm f/2.6 MFT lens. But the moment you will read the price I doubt anyone here is going to buy it :)

Optical design: 3 elements in 3 assembly units

Filter diameter: 52mm

(FT4) Rumors about the E-M1II launch being delayed til early 2017

E-M1II

I got a bad news via two different reliable sources. Both have been told by Olympus that the E-M1II shipment got delayed til early 2017. I dont’ know yet if this means that Olympus will not announce the new camera at Photokina.

The cause of the delay is the sensor shortage caused by the Sony production stop in Kumamoto. Sony had to shut down the facility for over 6 weeks because od the damages caused by the earthquake. Also the many times leaked E-PL8 announcement got delayed.

I Still hope Olympus will announce the E-M1II at Photokina anyway. I don’t mind waiting til early 2017 to get the camera :)

(FT5) The new Olympus E-M1II has a dual SD card slot!

Trusted sources told us the new Olympus E-M1II will be the first Olympus MFT camera with dual SD card slot! Not sure though if this means the camera will be bigger…

The Dual SD card slot is another feature that will make the E-M1II more suitable for PRO photographers.  Dual SD card slots allow:

  • Mirroring of the image across multiple cards for redundancy
  • Automatic switching to a second card after the first one reaches capacity
  • Ability to write different file formats to different memory cards

The E-MII will be announced right before the Photokina start in September!
