Panasonic will announce the new 8-18mm f/2.8-4.0 lens and the TZ90 compact camera on April 19! The lens is Leica branded. Pricing is still unconfirmed but the lens will ship sometimes this summer.

Panasonic will also announce new camcorder this Sunday (April 23) at 2pm Las Vegas time.

Cinema5D published a statement where they correct their judgement of the GH5 V-Log 10 bit performance:

Despite my best efforts and the intention to bring readers the most honest, unbiased and useful information for real world applications, the choice of codec and a possible software error led to unexpected and incorrect results of my initial 10-bit Vlog test.

Panasonic statement “pledges to further improve the GH5 AF quality”

The last couple of weeksthere have been a lot of discussions about the GH5 autofocus performance. TodayPhotoJoseph got an official statement from Panasonic:

“We recommend to select 1-area AF in 30p or 60p frame rate for more comfortable Auto Focus speed. When you select 24p, 1-area AF is recommended.
If you are still experiencing slower than desired AF, Panasonic suggests to override AF by pressing the shutter button halfway down.
Panasonic pledges to further improve the AF quality.”
