New screw-in filter holder for Olympus 7-14mm f2.8 PRO

Taiwanese company STC is working with Olympus Taiwan to design a screw-in filter holder for Olympus 7-14mm f2.8 PRO. The holder takes an 105mm filter. Currently their CPL shows slight vignetting, but the newly designed ND filter could possibly avoid that. They’re still not sure if they should make an ND4, ND8, ND16…maybe your readers can help advise on this ;) They also say it’s possible (and easier) to make one for Pana 7-14mm. Based on the comments, this will be available at the end of next month at least in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Not sure if it will be available elsewhere, though. See here:

Olympus PEN-F & ECG-4 Grip Unboxing & First Look by Geekanoids

We got two nre PEN-F reviews. Above the video from Geekanoids and here is the Complete Review from Mirrorlessons:

The Pen F is a camera that delivers an excellent user experience and is packed with tons of features that allow you to do pretty much everything. The new profiles can make the camera more personal and they deliver the best black and white images I’ve seen from a digital camera.
The new sensor doesn’t bring any substantial improvements but the image quality is on par with the best you can find in the Micro Four Thirds realm. The autofocus performance is good, and the build quality and design are excellent. It’s a beautiful camera to own and to use especially with compact lenses.

Gary:The third film in my Mt. Tamalpais West Peak trilogy, entirely shot on the Panny GH4 with aerials shot on the new DJI Inspire 1 X5R raw 4k camera.  Editedin FCPX and graded/camera-matched in Davinci Resolve.
“Song of the Last Place (There is nowhere else to go.)”  https://vimeo.com/164439459
The film features guitarist Jimmy Dillon (who’s played with Springsteen, Dylan, Sting, Santana and Bonnie Raitt) and local cellist Katy Boyd, playing an original arrangement of Bach’s 5th Cello Suite “Serabande” for cello and resonator/steel blues guitar.  Two musicians playing together but at two different times, invoking the spirits of the ghosts that inhabit the old nuclear missile targeting station.
For context re the trilogy, the first two films are here:
#1)  The Invisible Peak: https://vimeo.com/84477950  (shot all on Nikon FF hardware)
#2)  Mountains Made of Chalk Fall Into the Sea, Eventually:  https://vimeo.com/119016971  (shot on the Sony A7s)
We premiered the new film to a sold-out house at the Throckmorton Theater in Mill Valley this week as part of an event to show people that the restoration of that area of Mt. Tamalpais has actually begun. We’ve been working almost 5 years promoting the restoration, now it’s finally happening.  These three films were absolutely instrumental in building a groundswell of support in the community to raise the funds necessary to get this project started.  And it has started!  Here’s a little video that features some of the folks actually working on the project, also shot on the GH4.  (https://vimeo.com/163496365)
What is so amazing about this story that this air force station is literally on the summit of the tallest mountain near San Francisco, smack dab on top of a State Park (contiguous to the busiest National Park in the country, the Golden Gate Nat’l Recreation Area) but invisible to 99.9% of the public.  Because of these films, and the support they’ve engendered, the restoration of this area, once sacred to the indigenous Coastal Miwok indians, is now happening.  Funding is in place and we’re moving forward.
Films for good!  Films for change!
