(UPDATED) Lightning Deal on the E-M5 in UK! Price drop on France.

I am so glad to finally share an European deal found by our reader Roelandt (Thanks!). AT 1pm London time the E-M5 body will get a Lightning deal at Amazon UK (Click here). I checked the Deal page of Amazon DE, but there is no E-M5 deal there.

UPDATE: There is a nice price drop in France (Thanks Lepidi). E-M5 body for 877 at Amazon France and 12-50mm kit for 1.058 (Click here).

This means that the E-M5 price may dropped world wide! Not only in USA.

P.S.: Six refurbished E-M5 auctions are ongoing via Olympusmarket eBay.

    In norway; E-M5 + 12-50 + HLD-6 and extra battery; 9999,- NOK.

    • Es

That’s like 1400 euros… not even close to a good deal

  • Reuben

Hopefully its a good price, the EM-5 and kit lens went last week in an Amazon lightening deal for 15% off list price. Its tempting but still really expensive.

  • Miroslav

Prices just drop a bit slower in Europe, but they eventually follow what’s happening the US. What’s even better is that the upcoming E-P3 successor shouldn’t be more expensive than E-M5.

  • Sunny

Why is it soooooooo important to see a price drop? Ok, maybe you can save some bucks buying an M5. But finally stable prices are a reliable sign that there´s an insistent demand and a product has a stable value.

As an M5 owner I can´t buy anything for falling prices

    • OMega

Are you refering to the Olympus E-M5 or the Leica M5, we have to be carefulwith this one as it is due to Leica we had the original OM-1, Olympus first name was the M-1 which Leica complained about as the M series was theirs, Olympus therefore added the ‘O’ OM-1. Olympus M-1’s are now a highly sought after camera.

      • Sunny

We´re talking about Olympus here, aren´t we?

        • OMega

True but I have seen Leica mentioned in the past.

      1) Price drops signal a new product is coming, which is usually quite exciting

      2) The western world is obsessed with “getting the best deal”. People will spend tens of hours looking through shopping sites so they can get $50 off of a camera, or $100 off of a flight price, without any regard how much time went into it.

  • Miroslav

This is a bit lower than 877 euros: . And there are many more deals like that is the Swiss shops. Time to go back to the Alps, admin ;).

    • admin

      You may be right :)

    • OMega

      Less than £690 sterling

      • kbalage

Amazon lightning deal price is £850, not a great deal compared to that :)

  • Yun

Hmm… Sounds something big is coming .
I still waiting for what is next from Pana & Oly .

  • Reuben

So the deal is £849 for the black body only (and free 45 f1.8 promotion from Olympus). 15% off Amazons normal price.

Plus I really wanted a silver body.

  • cheap_photographer

Can Amazon France deliver to UK?

If YES, the price is cca £710 pounds!!!
It is MUCH better deal than £850 price with LightingDeal on Amazon UK and no need to rush it and buy it within 4 hours, but only 9 pieces are avaiable!

The problem is, how is the warranty solved and if they deliver to British Islands :/ And if the promotion from Olympus be still valid for the 45mm lens.

    • cheap_photographer

The portrait lens 45mm promotion is only for UK/Ireland customers.
Does anybody know if I buy it from Amazon France but I am from UK,
      will I get a promotion?
It will be delivered to my UK address of course, but from France.

£700 pounds is hard to resist

      • cheap_photographer

admin could you check on this (with olympus?) combination (buying from France but applying for UK lens free promotion)

        • NtT

the promotion details are saying it valid if you buy FROM UK/IE seller so it has nothing to do with the delivery address… unfortunately…

          • cheap_photographer

I have not read it there.
There is an info you have to be UK RESIDENT, but there isn’t ANY INFO about retailers.

Only a note that from specialized Olympus retailers, which are all over the world. And you just provide proof of purchase. Look at the link above.

Please find me the sentence where it says you have to buy it from UK/Ireland retailers.

            Thank you.

            • cheap_photographer

The purchase must be from a UK or Ireland based retailer that has bought stock through Olympus UK

              paragraph 18, you are right…

      • Anonymous

If you are buying from France, of course you can’t take advantage of the UK promotion.

  • Frank

The body on is down to EUR 855 right now. 3-5 weeks delivery though.
