(FT5) Small info about the new E-M1X artificial intelligence autofocus

Artificial intelligence is quite a misused definition in these days. Everybody seems to want to use this for marketing purposes. The new Olympus E-M1X is also rumored to have “AI autofocus”. If this is pure marketing or if it’s really something groundbreaking has to be seen. A source who has seen the E-m1X told me this:

An example of what I can do: It can track and recognize helmet on the racing motorcycle.

Previously another source told me this:

Adaptive and expandable focal points. Two examples. If you are shooting a person, then shift to shooting a car, the number of focal points will automatically expand. If you are shooting a basketball player, you will get a vertical series of 5 focal points.

Let’s hope this is really something that works as well as Olympus is telling!
