It’s confirmed folks! Olympus registered a new camera model with built-in grip at Fccid.io. And the agency reports the exact size of the camera:
E-M1X is 144.37 x 146.765 x 75.345mm
By Comparison this is the size of other cameras:
E-M1 Mark II: 134.1 x 90.9 x 68.9mm
Canon EOS-1D X Mark II: 158.0 x 167.6 x 82.6mm or
Nikon D5: 160.0 x 158.5 x 92.0mm.

Another trusted source who saw the camera told me the new E-M1X is a “Canon 1dx level” camera. It means it’s oriented for serious sports photographer and it has an integrated vertical grip! I am working to get some specs and also detailed info on the rumored “unique” features this camera will have. Olympus will throw in a lot of innovation in this camera also to show what’s possible to achieve with a MFT camera.
As reported previously this camera will be announced in January!

The current E-M1II vs the Fuji X-T3 (via CameraSize).
One of my trusted sources saw an early prototype of the new E-M1X that will be announced in Janauary. He said the camera should be able to outperform the new Fuji X-T3 in terms of both stills and video performance.
Of course it’s hard to believe such a claim yet, we can only hope that REAL tests coming in January will confirm this. Sound exciting so far!

Olympus is expected to announce two new cameras in the next months: A new Tough compact and the new E-M1X KILLER MFT camera :)

I am yet not 100% sure about this but the new camera that Olympus will announce in January might be announced “Olympus OMD E-M1X“. This differes from a rumor I got months ago where sources told me it could be named “Olympus OMD E-M1S“. But a source who SAW!!!! the camera told me the “X” was now engraved on the camera.
The camera will be announced in January. And I should get some early specs very soon…

It appears to be really a game changing camera. I am working to triple confirm the info I got and will post the first info as soon as I have it confirmed. What I can tell you in advance is that it has some unique features not available on any camera on market yet!
I ask the sources who sent me info the past hours to be patient while I am evaluating the info they sent. Wanna try to get the rumors right before I post them :)
