The Suisse Zumsetin newsletter “leaked” a new Olympus product announcement info. On Tuesday (May 12) Olympus will announce the 7-14mm f/2.8 and 8mm f/1.8 fisheye PRO lenses. And there will be also a special limited edition E-M1!

Digicameinfo spotted the name of two new Panasonic MFT and one superzoom fixed lens camera. The Wi-Fi alliance officially registered the new products. As reported on 43rumors we expect the G7 to be announced around May 19-20. The GX8 will be announced a couple of months later. Not sure yet when the FZ300 is coming.

Source “Simon” added some info to his previous “geomembrane” rumor (43rumors post here):

I asked again to explain me what ment “Geomembrane”. He said, that this is a shortcut for “Gyro Electodes Organic Membran”. That means for non engineers like me, that you can upgrade the “view angle”for the sensor from (EM-1)today 36 ° to the new sensor 58°. This leads to an increasing absorption capability. BUT again, this for the future System expecting announced in September 2016 !!

As fare as i understood it right, that means the Sensor will make 10 photos to one high resolution picture. With the [shoplink 53188 ebay]em-5 mkII[/shoplink] You Need a tripod, with the new em-1 you Can Do it freehand.

Just got word the Panasonic G7 will be announced around May 19. Don’t know if that is the exact date because it depends from the timezone where the source lives :)

FT5 specs so far are:
– Panasonic G7 announcement in mid may
– 16MP sensor (same as th one used by the GX7
– 4K recording
– no DFD

A source told me Olympus will announce the 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO lens pricing in May. And as far as he heard there is no new MFT camera to be announced yet. So no new E-P6 or E-PLM camera coming yet.

Another source shared a good and a not so good news. The Panasonic G7 will have 4K but very likely no DFD focusing system. He has no info about the 4K bitrate. The FT5 specs so far are:

The Schau 2015 event in Berlin will start on May 29. And the official program discloses two news:

Olympus  Sneak Preview der neuen Objektive M.Zuiko Digital ED 8mm Fisheye f/1,8 Pro & 7-14mm f/2,8 Pro

Which means Olympus will have a sneak preview with the 8mm Fisheye and 7-14mm PRO lenses! I guess this means full pricing will be released on that event also because the 7-14mm lens is expected to ship in June according to BHphoto (Click here).

And then Panasonic:

PREMIERE! Spannende Panasonic Lumix Neuheiten

It says there will be “exciting” new Panasonic Lumix products! Of course we already know one of them is the G7 camera :)
