After the 28mm FF f/2.0 patent Egami spotted another new Olympus Full Frame lens patent describing three new lenses:

1. 20mm f/1.4
2. 24mm f/1.4
3. 35mm f/1.4

The patent shows detailed optical performance graphs. All three lenses have huge distortion and chromatic aberrations. But Olympus probably did choose to have them corrected in camera anyway.

Such kind of patent opens many questions: Is Olympus going to launch a new system at photokina? Will Panasonic also be on board of it?

This is not a MFT related rumor. But it might for interest for some of our readers:

On January 27 Olympus will also announce a new “action camera”. A source told me that camera is compatible with all current GoPro accessories. I have yet no picture not specs about the camera.

I never saw that before and I have no clue about how good (or bad) that adapter works: The chinese company Kooka is selling the [shoplink 57586 ebay]FT to MFT autofocus adapter on eBay (Click here)[/shoplink].

Just like the [shoplink 57711 ebay]E-M5II[/shoplink] also the new upcoming PEN-F will be able to take High Resolution mode pictures (up to 50 megapixel). The sources also said that while the price may be set high the PEN-F will be really feature many improvements and features that will make it better than any current Olympus MFT camera.

Panasonic is going to launch the successor of the CM1 tomorrow (in Japan only). There is yet no info about the specs of the new CM10 smartphone-camera. The next Panasonic MFT related announcement will happen in February at or shortly before the CP+ show. The GF8 is expected to be announced and we will probably also see some new lens prototype too.

What you see here above is the patented optical design of a new Olympus Zuiko 28mm f/2.0 lens for….Full Frame mirrorless! This means Olympus is considering to keep the doors open for a possible new FF system.

It would make sense to me to offer a sort of “Macro Four Thirds system”. A step up option for MFT owners who need a larger sensor size. Would you like that?
