Next week Panasonic will announce the new Leica DG Vario-ELMARIT 50-200mm f/2.8-4.0 ASPH./ POWER O.I.S. lens. And those are the official product images. There is yet no info about the possible pricing.

Our reader Alexander (Thanks!) noticed that also the PEN-F will get a new firmware update on Feb 28.

• New Bleach Bypass filter will be added
• You can now adjusted shading effects.
• With the Olympus Digital Camera Updater  you can now save your monochrome profiles on the camera
• Fixed an AF issue with the Leica 200mm lens.

Back when Olympus launched the new E-M1II there was a long discussion if handheld high-resolution mode would actually be possible. Well this week Pentax is going to announce the new K1II and it’s rumored to be the first camera having a working handheld High Resolution mode.

I hope both Olympus and Panasonic can add this feature on their cameras via firmware upgrade. But I suspect this hope is misplaced and we are going to get this new feature on future models only.
