Nanoha X5 review by Brian Byrd.

Manuel:As part of your call for readers submissions, I would like to share with you my short documentary “Crowded Healing” on health and overpopulation issues in Manila, which was shot exclusively with micro 4/3 equipment. Cameras used where the Panasonic GH2 and Olympus OM-D, mostly with the Voigtlander 17.5 f/0.95 lens. Watch it here: https://vimeo.com/65404491

Nico:I have a blog at http://bee-colours.blogspot.com where I show UV-photos of flowers and other subjects taken with a broadband-modified Panasonic Lumix G1 and the required filters. I also do composite images to create “simulated bee-colours” meaning how bees, that see a different spectrum of the light (including UV but missing deep red), do likely see a flower. Recently, I’ve also started to capture UV-induced fluorescence, with a Lumix GH2 (not modified) and special UV-blocking filters. Gear and methodology are described in more detail in my blog that I will keep updating with new posts. It’s certainly a very special topic, but some might find it interesting, maybe even as fascinating as I do.

Andrew:Hi Ale, Your readers might be interested in my 10 part review of the Lumix GH3 on my Camera Ergonomics blog. The first part starts here: http://cameraergonomics.blogspot.com.au/2013/03/lumix-gh3-review-part-1-introduction.html Hope you like it.

Zoom Madness: Panasonic announces the 60x zoom FZ70 (20-1200mm!!!)

Sorry if it’s not an MFT news, but I think it’s a very curious thing Panasonic announced today:

In the world of digital cameras you can fin the Megapixel race, the ISO race, the Miniaturization race and we also have the Superzoom race. Today Panasonic announced the 60x (!) zoom FZ70 camera (here at Amazon). Guys…that’s a 20-1200mm lens! Someone here on 43rumors that is going to buy this?

All preorder links at Amazon and Adorama.

Fotodiox will launch a new Vizelex adapter soon. Higher quality and 0.5x reduction for MFT!

The Vizelex Light Cannon isn’t a good quality adapter. And the Fotodiox company acknowledged that and is preparing a new version. SpilledInk just sent me that message:

“Here are some non-pixel peeping test shots of the cheap and disappointing Fotodiox Vizelex Light Cannon (Lens Turbo clone). The reaction has been so poor that Fotodiox has promised a version 2 in a few months free to anyone that bought the original light cannon. They are even offering a 0.5x reduction version which would give our Micro 4/3 cameras full frame field of view. Hopefully the quality improves: http://www.flickr.com/photos/savanapridi/sets/72157634459659517/ Thanks. I hope your readers might find this test useful.”

More news at personal-view.com. The current adapter sells for $149 at Amazon (Click here).

Lumix G6 dark halo issue (can be avoided)

Lumix G6 dark halo issues from Jon Wide on Vimeo.

If you own (or will soon own) the new Panasonic G6 know that there is a dark halo issue (watch video on top). The good news is that there is a little trick to get rid of the issue. Oscillian at Personal-View reports:

This is caused by i.Dynamic settings. Turn OFF to avoid these artifacts!

Thanks Oscillian for finding and solving the issue!
