I am not sure we will ever see this for real but Olympus patented a faster version fo the current 12-50mm f/3.5‑6.3 lens. This patented lens has a much more attractive f/2.8-4.0 aperture. The exact lens specs would be:

And now it’s here! Tamron officially released the lens which will ship from June 26 already for 26,000 Yen (about $255 or 187 Euro). Interestingly Tamron also wrote a note about the reason why they changed the lens spec and removed the in lens stabilization (google translated):
