Mirrorleassons:Since it has been extremely foggy here in Turin as of late, Mathieu and I decided document the phenomenon one Sunday morning with the Lumix LX100 and Fuji X100t. The result is this gallery. :) Hope you enjoy it! http://www.bestmirrorlesscamerareviews.com/2014/12/22/fog-on-the-river-po-in-turin-a-fujifilm-x100t-panasonic-lumix-lx100-gallery/

Jan:My best shot I did this year solely using the Panasonic Lumix GM1 in combination with the Voigtländer f0.95 25mm lens – no rig or whatsoever used. https://vimeo.com/101335718

Eyal:If you care for such comparison – I compared my LX100 and my GX7 20mm f/1.7 kit to see who’s sharper. The results are here: http://www.eyalg.com/blog/2014/12/lx100-vs-gx7-sharpness-comparison-test/

Japanese Olympus patent shows E-M5II new sensor shift tech!

For those of you that speak Japanese there is a new Olympus patent No. 2013-187811 describing how the sensor shift tech works (Source: http://astamuse.com/ja/published/JP/No/2013187811).

The patent shows how the shifting creates high-definition images with 1/2 pixel shift and 4 frames.

The E-M5markII will actually increase that to 8 frames (and 40MP resolution images). The sensor used will be the same as the one of the current E-M5 (16MP and no phase detection pixels). But the processor will be new and manage to create those 40MP images on the fly!

Panasonic GM development team interviewed. Also hints that a new GF and GX camera is possile.

DC.watch interviewed the Panasonic team responsible for the GM line development. Here are some of the info they shared:
– Orange GM1 sold more than expected. Green Gm5 will be sold in Asia only. Red Gm cameras are attractive for the female photographers group.
– Panasonic acknowledges people also wants a new GF camera.
– 4K recording on GM5 is not possible because the camera would have to be larger and also power consumption would overheat the circuitry.
– With current technology 4K can fit only in a camera as small as the LX100
– we will “endeavor” to make a GX7 successor :)
