Toivo:This not a rumor, but my wish to Olympus, Panasonic and others:
MFT is almost complete:
there are extreme rectilinear wide angles down to 7 mm, there are extreme fisheye lenses (Entaniya), there are extreme macros with quite more than 1:1 scale.
But there is a lack of an ultra-telephoto lens.
You should make a 1,000 mm (= 2,000 mm on full frame) with f-value about 1:10 and autofocus.
Contrary to phase detection, contrast autofocus could work even at such low (of luminosiy) f-values. 1.000 mm lenses with better f-values, at this focal lenght nobody could pay.
Could be a catadioptric one. In the past Minolta has shown that catadioptrics with autofocus are possible.
Thanks!

You can now print your MFT Double Lens Cap!

Our reader Michael sent me this:

A friend of mine gave me a self designed double lens cap for Micro-Four-Thirds, which I’ve testet for some weeks now. It is really cool, and now he recently started to sell it via Shapeways. Maybe that’s interesting for your readers?
He has also designed some other stuff, like very compact lens hoods for some Olympus lenses. Just take a look:

Marc:Something crazy happened to me this week: the tables were turned on me — I was interviewed by NPR.  Having done over a thousand hours of interviews with some of the biggest names in photography, I found it refreshing to be on the other end of the microphone, answering questions instead of asking them.
Video link: https://youtu.be/V50jwCoEDPY
The interview started right out the gate with a tough question: “What makes a picture?”

We covered a lot of ground including the use of angles, why people are passionate about photography, anticipating the action, use of geometry and loads more, all while discussing examples of my work and telling the stories behind them.
