Capion Studio:GH5 & Nikkor-S 55MM F1.2 Test https://vimeo.com/213776898
This is some of the first footage I have shot with the Panasonic GH5 and my newly acquired Nikkor-S 55mm F 1.2 w/ Metabones adapter. This has been shot at two resolutions / speeds; UHD 60 fps, and HD 180 fps conformed to a 24p timeline. Footage was conducted via handheld and with the Ronin-M stabilizer. Coloring processed with Magic Bullet Looks.
Thoughts:
Personally I love the organic look the Nikkor-S 55mm F1.2 provides. It has low contrast and a soft ethereal “glow” to it at F1.2. My lens collection is rather clinical, so I am starting to invest in the vintage Nikon line to introduce more character into my work as shown here. The Nikkor-S 55mm F1.2 sharpens up around F1.8 – F2 to the point that it can compete with some of the best lenses out there. Chromatics are noticeable around edges, but I find it flattering to coincide with the organic feel. Give this lens a try, you will not be disappointed!”
