On Internet some rumors circulate about company (Panasonic ?) launching a mysterious new affordable MFT 4k camcorder.
Apparently here is a video manager (from Panasonic?) talking about that camera. Some Japanese guy may help us to translate this:

Philip recommends the MFT version over the EF version because: “the flange distance makes way more sense for that sensor size and the image of the Blackmagic MFT with my Voigtlander glass is just damn gorgeous as it’s using more of less the whole lens.”

Luc asked me if the Nokton and SLR magic f/0.95 lenses are the fastest you can get for MFT. Actually the answer is no! Kenko Ibelux for example will launch a new 40mm f/0.85 lens by end of this year (save this Slidoo search to get notified when it will be for sale on eBay). Price isn’t set yet.
And on eBay there are plenty of fast lenses and some of them you could use with adapters on MFT cameras (althaugh they will vignette and have a creamy image rendering). A source told us that neither the new GF nor the G will use a new sensor. They will use sensors already in use in current Panasonic MFT cameras. I may ask my trusted sources to share me some info about the late April announcement and if that MFT camera will use the new sensor generation? Thanks!

While I told you that the new GF and G are coming for sure (likely on April 9th) I am still not 100% sure if the GX2 is going to be announced in late April/early May. That said, I am working to get the GF and G specs. The new GF is definitely bigger and I have been told it has no real new tech (also no new sensor for example). While the new G can be considered a “cheap and lighter” GH3.
Reminder: Also a new Olympus PEN is coming soon (and with no integrated EVF and likely same OMD sensor).
The video on top explains the tech behind the new innovative Panasonic “Micro Color Splitters” sensor. Panasonic said that new technique allows to “approximately double the color sensitivity in comparison with conventional sensors that use color filters.“.
I hope we will not have to wait to wait a long time to see it on use on a Micro Four Thirds camera!
