3 years ago |Was out shooting with my Pen FT yesterday and wishing Olympus would make a digital version of it. Instead of SLR system use hybrid viewfinder, no screen, no extra buttons. Replace film advance with nice metal buttons for playback and ISO, with maybe two arrow buttons (left and right.) The front shutter dial changes depending on what you hit, and maybe you press it in to change between aperture and shutter. No menu, same decent settings. Replace flash switch on side with a toggle for RAW and JPEG, replace front timer button with toggle for hybrid viewfinder. Keep timer same but have it start when you press shutter button. To format the card you hit film release button on bottom and then rewind a fake film rewind a few times. “Are you sure? To confirm rewind film, to cancel hit shutter button.”
Ok that’s it I’m mocking this up.

What I want is a camera with a replaceable sensor, wind-up charging to avoid batteries, and a good viewfinder. Oh wait, I have one. Its called an OM-1.

Seems like a fun gift to get for a youngster. Tiny little camera they can take around and even swap lenses. And the resolution is just fine for taking pics to share online.
