All new PEN’s in Stock at Amazon. 35-100mm X zoom too.
Both new PEN cameras are in Stock at Amazon: The E-PM2 (Click here) and the camera without AA filter…the E-PL5 (CLick here). And this finally pushed the E-Pl5 on the top ten of the rankings (Click here).
Top rate seller Kenmorecamera has four new 35-100mm X lenses in Stock via eBay (Click here). Of course you can wait two months to see if the rumor about the Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8 is real but first I am not sure yet if it is coming, second I doubt it would be less expensive than the Panasonic lens. Kenmorecamera also still has the best price on the GX1 with 14-42mm pancake X lens on eBay (Click here). $200 less than what you have to pay for it on Amazon.
Now let’s see soon what the price of the new Olympus 17mm f/1.8 will be. Just heard that it actually will cost 499 Euro and not 550 Euro. Not sure yet about the final price in dollars!

8 months ago |Why wouldn’t the Olympus version, without stabilization in the lens, be cheaper than the Panasonic? I realize that the FT 35-100 zoom was pricier, but that was a f/2.0 lens, not a f/2.8, and that small amount of aperture can make a big difference in price.

8 months ago |Does anyone know if it is possible to buy black hand grip and thumb grip for the EPL-5….I was thinking of buying a white one..getting rid of the tan and then either a black or silver lens would be stylin on that body. I think the front camera grip may be much easier to come by than the back thumb grip. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

8 months ago |Bob, we are of the same mind.
One of the other posters tipped me off that EP3 grips fit the EPL5, so I researched and ordered one with my white EPL5 from B&H (link below). The thumb grip is fixed and it doesn’t bother me enough to research Oly replacement parts and glue a new black one on.
They also make an oversized grip which wasn’t appealing to me (link also below).
Note that the EP3 grip had a leather grain texture vs. the EPL5 crosshatch pattern. Still looks great, especially when I mount one of my Panny lenses.
Now I have to decide which leather 1/2 jacket to get…
Good luck

8 months ago |WOW….thanks Brian….Yeah..I have an OMD..and a GX1 right now….I am thinking of dumping the GX1 and getting an EPL5 as a backup/second body. Too confusing having the two different menu systems (Plus I shoot Canon as well)…Plus this sensor is definitely better than the GX1 (but not overly so)…
I REALLY hate the tan…so I may call the Olympus Store and see if they have any thoughts on getting me a black thumb grip.
The camera must look cool with the black accent, no?
