PCmag reviewed the Panasonic Lumix GH7 and concluded:
The Lumix DC-GH7 is a relatively quick replacement for the discontinued GH6, but it makes some important changes to the image sensor. We’re happy to see Panasonic put its relatively young phase detection autofocus system into the GH line, even if its adoption of the tech comes late in the game versus the bulk of its competitors, all of which have had this type of focus in mirrorless cameras for years. We also appreciate that it brings the improved dynamic range from the G9 II to the table. The GH7 costs a bit more than the G9 II, our top-rated Micro Four Thirds camera and current Editors’ Choice among hybrid photo-video models. The GH7 leans more strongly into video, both in feature set and body design, and justifies its $300 premium over the G9 II for creators who will take advantage of ProRes or frequently record long-form content.
